A Major Milestone for Nigeria–Türkiye Maritime Relations!

History was made at the Nigeria–Türkiye Shipbuilding & Maritime Showcase and Forum 2026 as four strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to deepen cooperation between Nigeria and Türkiye.

Jointly organised by the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GİSBİR) and the Nigeria–Türkiye Business Council (NTBC), with technical support from Iymer Group, Türkiye, under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye, the four-part virtual forum was held on the DAMISE Digital Business Platform from 20 July – 5 August 2026.

The landmark agreements include:

🤝 Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GİSBİR) × Nigeria Chamber of Shipping – Maritime and shipbuilding cooperation.

🤝 Nigeria–Türkiye Business Council (NTBC) × Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GİSBİR) – Business facilitation, investment promotion, and industrial collaboration.

🤝 Nigeria–Türkiye Business Council (NTBC) × DAMISE – Digital business connectivity and maritime business matchmaking.

🤝 Piri Reis University, Türkiye × Rivers State University, Nigeria – Academic cooperation, research, maritime education, and human capital development.

These landmark agreements mark a significant step towards strengthening bilateral maritime cooperation, fostering investment, facilitating technology transfer, advancing maritime education, and building a more competitive maritime industry for both Nigeria and Türkiye.

ASRIAD Business Association Türkiye Team Concludes Business Engagements in Lagos

As part of their pre-business delegation visit to Nigeria, the ASRIAD Business Association Türkiye Team concluded a series of impactful business engagements in Lagos, hosted by members of the Nigeria–Türkiye Business Council (NTBC).

Throughout the visit, the delegation engaged directly with Nigerian businesses through company visits and business meetings, gaining practical insights into the Nigerian commercial landscape and identifying opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.

NTBC Hosts ASRIAD Business Association Türkiye Team in Abuja

The Nigeria–Türkiye Business Council (NTBC) was delighted to host the ASRIAD Business Association Türkiye Team in Abuja as part of their pre-business delegation visit to Nigeria.

During their stay in Abuja, the team participated in several productive B2B meetings, strategic site visits, and supermarket visits to gain firsthand insights into Nigeria's market and explore opportunities for trade, investment, and business collaboration across key sectors, including agro-processing, food and beverage, livestock, construction, renewable energy, textiles, and logistics.

The team also held a productive meeting with the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) and paid courtesy visits to MÜSİAD Nigeria and the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Abuja, further strengthening institutional relationships and expanding avenues for Nigeria–Türkiye business cooperation.

The team's engagements continue in Lagos, where they will hold further meetings with Nigerian companies and undertake additional business visits to foster strategic partnerships and unlock new trade and investment opportunities.

Strengthening Nigeria–Türkiye Livestock Partnerships for Sustainable Growth

On the 25th of June, 2026, Nigeria–Türkiye Business Council (NTBC) successfully organized the Nigeria–Türkiye 50/50 virtual executive business forum on the livestock sector, bringing together government agencies, financial institutions, livestock associations, livestock business owners, and leading Turkish companies, to strengthen bilateral cooperation and unlock investment opportunities in Nigeria's livestock industry.

The forum served as a strategic platform to foster business partnerships, promote technology transfer, facilitate investment, and expand trade across the livestock value chain. Discussions focused on key areas, including breeding and genetics, animal health, feed production, dairy and meat processing, cold chain logistics, ranching, and modern livestock infrastructure.

With Nigeria's immense livestock potential and Türkiye's advanced expertise, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to developing bankable projects through livestock sector collaboration.

The forum also showcased investment opportunities in the States in Nigeria and the readiness of Turkish companies to partner with Nigerian businesses through innovative technologies, turnkey solutions, and long-term investments.

In commitment to promoting bilateral trade and investment, the forum marks the beginning of NTBC's sustained engagements aimed at driving food security, job creation, industrial growth, and sustainable economic development in both Nigeria and Türkiye.
