We organized a career planning workshop last Saturday for participants who completed our career planning program last month. The session included a range of exercises, as well as group discussions and presentations on topics such as how to build career capital, exploring high-impact career paths, and making thoughtful career decisions, among others.

The workshop concluded with a peer review session, during which participants presented their action plans for pursuing high-impact career paths.

We hosted our first EA Nigeria community meetup in Kaduna, with 70+ attendees.

The event featured networking sessions, discussion groups, presentations, and engagement from both first-time participants and those already familiar with Effective Altruism.

We look forward to seeing attendees continue to engage more deeply and take action toward making an impact.

From February to April 2026, we ran the Effective Altruism Intro Fellowship program in Nigeria, and it was a powerful experience of learning, reflection, and community building.

The fellowship introduces participants to the core ideas of Effective Altruism; using evidence and reason to do the most good. Over the course of 8 sessions, we explored key themes such as cause prioritization, global challenges, effective giving, and how to think more intentionally about impactful careers.

Our meetup in Enugu brought together new and existing community members to connect, share ideas, and deepen their engagement with Effective Altruism.

We had an incredible time at EA Nigeria Community Retreat, 2025! Participants came together in Abuja to reflect, learn, and network aimed at driving meaningful impact.

From group discussions, presentations and individual exercises to strategy sessions and inspiring conversations, our retreat created a space for deep thinking, connection, and practical next steps for impactful work.
