The panel discussion held at the dRPC- Kano Center convened in the American Spaces Kano, had the participation of the Kano State CSOs Safe Schools Technical Working Group, State Ministry of Education, State Ministry of Women Affairs, TRCN and the dRPC. Recommendations from the panel include the need for schools to formulate action plans to guide their approach in addressing issues related to gender-based violence (GBV) within the school environment and utilization of community structures such as School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in addressing GBV issues in schools through active participation and empowering school leaderships to report cases of GBV.
