Women Development Monitoring Initiative(WDMI) is happy to be a member of the Way4Nigeria Alliance -an alliance of Women and Youth organisations in Nigeria working collaboratively to increase the inclusion of women and youths in politics and governance.

Way4Nigeria Alliance with support from Frederich Ebert Stiftung today completed it's first cohort on Women and Youth Training on Fact-Checking and Countering Misinformation.In the course of the training,the participants were exposed to the forms of misinformation such as CGI, AI generated contents, photoshop, etc. and equipped with practical knowledge on how to fact check and counter misinformation.

In Women Development Monitoring Initiatives continued effort to enrich conversations and add a strong voice to the call for a more inclusive/progressive society,our Executive Director Chikas Kumle was on the panel discussion at the CSOs Electoral Reform Summit put together by Inclusive Friends Association with support from National Endowment for Democracy(NED) Dengiyefa Angalapu from the Center for Democracy and Development (CDD West Africa) led an insightful panel session featuring other distinguished panelists; Suleiman Mande of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), Mboho Eno of the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development, Comrade Agbo Christian Obiora of The Qualitative Magazine, Faruk Ibrahim of Yiaga Africa and Ife Olatunji-david from the and Private Development Center - PPCD

"The session delved into critical emerging issues in electoral reforms, focusing on security, electoral processes, and the judiciary, particularly concerning youth, women, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The discussion emphasized the declining youth participation in elections, the importance of early voting, grassroots education, stronger legislation, and accountability. Additionally, the panelists addressed the challenges of misinformation, AI, and the need for inclusive recruitment, data collection, and training of security operatives to ensure a more inclusive electoral process"-IFA
