Screening of Newly Admitted Students for the 2025/2026 Academic Session

This is to inform all newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 Academic Session that the Northwest University, Kano has scheduled a screening exercise. Details of the screening, including the venue and schedule, are contained in the attached document.

All newly admitted students are required to appear in person at the designated venue for the screening exercise.

Students are expected to present the original copies of all documents listed in the attached document for sighting and verification. Only candidates who successfully complete the screening exercise in line with the University’s requirements will be eligible to proceed with the admission process.

All concerned students are therefore advised to strictly adhere to the screening schedule and comply with all instructions as provided.

‎NAS/STRIKE – BREAKING NEWS

‎The Joint Union of Nasarawa State Tertiary Institutions, JUNSTI, has suspended its indefinite strike, which began on December 24, 2025, over the state government’s failure to pay members one year’s arrears of the minimum wage.
‎
‎In a press statement issued in Lafia, JUNSTI expresses appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Sule for releasing funds to implement the New National Minimum Wage across the state’s three tertiary institutions.
‎
‎The union also acknowledged the subsequent payment of wage differentials for November and December 2025 to its members.
‎
‎The statement further directs all members across the three institutions to resume academic activities immediately.
‎
‎It further emphasizes that the union will continue to monitor the full and sustained implementation of the New National Minimum Wage in the institutions, namely: Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, IMA, Lafia; College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia and College of Education, Akwanga.

Bad 😭💔 She lost her life on her way back home after collecting her statement of result.

A young woman who had given her all to educati, endured the long years, faced the stress, conquered the challenges, and finally graduated.

A student of the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Fishery and Aquaculture, she did everything right. She worked hard, completed her exams, and was ready to begin a new chapter of life full of dreams, plans, and expectations.

But life took a cruel turn. Before she could taste the fruits of her labour, before celebration could begin, she was gone. Her journey ended at the very moment she had crossed the finish line.

This heartbreaking loss reminds us that nothing is guaranteed. No matter our achievements, struggles, or victories, life remains fragile. Success means nothing without life; dreams fade the moment breath ceases.

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Management of FAMSAS College of Health Science and Technology, Keffi, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and dedicated professionals for full-time lecturing appointment. Applicants with the following qualifications are needed:

I. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Physics Tutor
II. Community Health Officer (CHO) Tutor
III. Primary Health Care (PHC) Tutor
IV. Pharmacist Tutor
V. Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) Tutor
VI. Medical Laboratory Technician

General Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Relevant academic qualifications in the respective field from recognized institutions, with a minimum of a good grade/class.
- Current registration and valid practicing licence with the appropriate professional regulatory council/board (e.g. MLSCN, PCN, etc.) for professional positions.
- Evidence of teaching experience in a College/School of Health, or demonstrable ability to teach, mentor, and assess students.
- Good communication skills, high ethical standards, and proficiency in basic ICT for teaching and record keeping.

- Attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
