WHEN A NATION OUTSOURCES ITS OUTRAGE
By Engr. Chika Okwuolisa (President, The Good Samaritan Network)
There’s a fire burning in our house, yet some people are busy arguing about who started a fire in another man’s compound.
That’s Nigeria today. 💔
Villages are being wiped out. Children go missing every week. Young people are kidnapped from buses, and families are mourning daily.
Just last week, a brilliant young Consultant Neurosurgeon, Dr. Tochukwu Mbanugo, after performing a brain tumor surgery at NAUTH, Nnewi, was abducted by unknown gunmen on his way home. As I write this, he is still in captivity.
Yet, the moment you mention these killings, someone somewhere will remind you that Trump hates Black people and has ulterior motives. Really?
Trump? Seriously?
Earlier this morning, my dear friend, now a Nigerian-American, reminded me how “gullible” Nigerians are because I expressed concern over the remarks attributed to Pastor Wale Adefarasin, who said that “killings have been happening for decades, we should live with and get used to it; Trump only has an interest in our oil and refinery.” So, in summary - CHIKA IS GULLIBLE!
She said:
👉🏽 “You Nigerians are so gullible! Trump doesn’t care about you, he hates Black People!
WHEN TRUMP BECOMES THE TOPIC AND NOT THE TRAGEDY
We’ve reached a strange point where some Nigerians hate Donald Trump more than they hate terrorism, corruption, or bad governance.
Say “Christians are being killed,” and they reply, “Trump is a racist!”
Say “Our leaders are silent while bandits destroy lives,” and they shout, “Stop supporting Trump!”
As if Trump was the one who abandoned our soldiers in the forest.
As if he’s the one who diverted funds meant for security.
As if he’s the reason we can’t protect our schoolchildren, our farmers, or even Dr. Tochukwu Mbanugo - who was kidnapped after saving a life through brain surgery.
This obsession has become a sickness, a mental deflection from reality.
We’ve turned politics into a religion, and truth into a hostage.
NOW LISTEN, THE REAL ENEMY ISN’T IN AMERICA or ANY OTHER COUNTRY, 🇳🇬
The real enemy isn’t in the White House, it’s in our own house, you don't need to look far!
It’s the silence of leaders who swore to defend us the Christians, Muslims, Traditionalists alike, but only interested in defending their political seats.
It’s the noise of citizens & those outside the shores of Nigeria who are only interested in who wins elections but can’t name the last five Nigerian villages attacked by terrorists.
It’s the pastors, imams, and influencers who roar about foreign policies, but whisper when Nigerians die.
If America sneezes, we analyze.
If Nigeria bleeds, we scroll past.
That’s how lost we’ve become.
When some say, “Don’t fall for Trump’s lies,” they think they’re enlightening us. But we are not naive.
We know politicians, all of them have motives.
But must we go silent about our dead simply because the “wrong person” spoke about them?
When a foreign leader comments on our pain, we argue about his motives instead of addressing the pain itself.
That’s the madness, silencing cries for justice because they don’t align with our political heroes or enemies.
Nigeria’s problem isn’t about Trump, Biden, or America.
It’s not about liberals or conservatives.
It’s not about North, South, East, or West.
It’s not about Christians, Muslims, or Traditionalists.
This is about Nigeria, a bleeding nation still searching for conscience.
The truth is simple: people are dying, not in history books, not in fiction, but right now, in our streets and villages.
Communities are being erased. Dreams are ending.
Hospitals are filled with people who can’t afford treatment.
So whether Trump tweets or not is irrelevant.
Whether America intervenes or not is secondary.
What matters is that our leaders must act — and act fast — to stop the killings, kidnappings, and chaos tearing this nation apart before war erupts. God forbid.
Our loyalty must be to humanity, not personalities.
Our anger must be directed at injustice, not at anyone who dares to mention it.
Whether Trump has a vested interest or not, our government still owes its citizens protection and justice.
Our loyalty must be to truth, not tribe;
conscience, not convenience;
God and humanity, not ideology.
Until we stop defending incompetence with bias,
Until we stop calling grieving people “gullible,”
Until we value Nigerian lives more than who said what,
Until we stop excusing evil because of who exposed it, until then,
We will remain a nation more offended by Trump’s words than by our own people’s blood.
And when a country reaches that point…
it’s not thinking anymore, it’s sinking. That’s paralysis!
Let’s focus on saving our people, irrespective of tribe, religion, or gender. not defending our politics.
Nigeria first, ALWAYS. 🇳🇬
CHIKA SAYS NO TO WAR! YES TO OUR LEADERS DOING THE RIGHT THING, & DOING IT FAST!
