To commemorate World No To***co Day, Move Against Cancer Africa hosted a webinar titled “Unmasking the Appeal: Countering To***co and Ni****ne Addiction.”

We were privileged and thankful to have Dr. Fagbule as our speaker, who delivered a clear and engaging session on how the to***co industry operates and the strategies it uses to attract and retain users, especially young people.

He stated that to***co use is now marketed as trendy “sensory experiences” with sh**ha and e-cigarettes now used more by the younger population in Africa. He debunked the idea that these newer to***co products are completely safe or only designed to help people quit smoking. Therefore, “safer” to***co products are actually not safe.

While e-cigarettes are often marketed as tools for reducing ni****ne dependence, they are increasingly being promoted in ways that appeal to younger audiences. This shifts the conversation from harm prevention to harm production.

The session reinforced the need for increased awareness, accurate information, and stronger advocacy to protect communities from ni****ne addiction and its long-term health effects.

Join us in spreading awareness, challenging misinformation, and protecting the next generation from to***co and ni****ne addiction.
