On this Good Friday, may we find a moment to reflect on the immense power of sacrifice, mercy, and unconditional love. It is a day that reminds us that even in the deepest shadows, a light of hope is being prepared.

May the solemnity of this day bring you closer to the truth of your worth and the promise of a new beginning.

A Christmas Message to Parents 🎄
From Vocational and Mentoring Training Initiative.

This Christmas season, we honor you; the steady hands and listening hearts that are raising the next generation.

Parenting a teenager requires patience, wisdom, and courage. It is not always loud or visible, but it is powerful. Every conversation you choose to have, every boundary you set, every time you show up even when it’s hard, you are shaping futures.

At Vocational and Mentoring Training Initiative, we believe that when parents are supported, teens are strengthened. Your role in nurturing confidence, character, and purpose in your teen cannot be replaced.

If this year came with questions, challenges, or moments of doubt, take heart. Growth often happens quietly. Seeds are being planted and in time, they will bear fruit.

May this Christmas bring peace into your home, renewed hope into your heart, and reassurance that you are not walking this journey alone.

Together, we remain committed to sustaining the girl child and the youth at large, today, tomorrow, and beyond.

Merry Christmas and thank you for all you do.

“Being Kind to Yourself When Everyone Says ‘Do More’”

The end of the year has a way of shouting at us. The pressure is REAL.

Finish strong.
Set bigger goals.
Do more. Become more. Prove more.
And while growth is good, pressure without compassion quietly breaks people.

This season, many are carrying invisible loads:
• Students trying to “end well” despite burnout.
• Parents feeling they didn’t do “enough” this year.
• Young people comparing their pace to someone else’s highlight reel.

But here’s a gentle truth we don’t say enough:
👉 Rest is not laziness.
👉 Pausing is not quitting.
👉 You don’t owe anyone exhaustion to prove your worth.

Being kind to yourself means:
• Allowing yourself to slow down without guilt.
• Celebrating progress, even if it’s small.
• Releasing the pressure to have everything figured out by December 31st.

Not every season is for pushing.
Some seasons are for healing, reflecting, and gathering strength.

Especially for teens and youth, this message matters:
You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are allowed to grow at a human pace.

As the year closes, ask yourself:-
• What did I survive this year?
• What did I learn about myself?
• Where do I need gentleness, not pressure?

Let this be a reminder:
✨ You are enough, even in rest.
✨ You are worthy, even when you’re tired.
✨ Kindness to yourself is also a form of strength.

Tag someone who needs permission to rest.
• “What’s one way you’ll be kinder to yourself this week?”
• “Parents: how do you model self-kindness for your children?

Dear Parents,
Gratitude doesn’t erase difficult seasons,
it reframes them.

That year your child struggled emotionally…
That phase of rebellion or silence…
That moment you felt like you were failing as a parent…

Gratitude allows you to see:
• Growth in the struggle
• Wisdom gained through patience
• Strength built in both you and your child.

When parents practice gratitude, teens learn resilience, not because life was perfect, but because they were supported through imperfection.

Sometimes the lesson wasn’t in the outcome, but in who your family became along the way.

Gratitude for Support Systems

“Who stood by you when it was hard this year?”

As this year winds down, pause for a moment and think back to the days that almost broke you.
The confusing seasons. The silent tears. The moments you felt unseen or unsure of yourself.

Now ask yourself this:
Who didn’t leave?

Maybe it was a friend who listened without judgment.
A parent who kept showing up even when you didn’t have the words.
A teacher who believed in you before you believed in yourself.
A mentor who reminded you that your story was not over.

Support systems are not always loud or perfect.
Sometimes, they are quiet prayers, gentle check-ins, consistent guidance, or tough love given with care.

Growth doesn’t happen alone.
Strength is often borrowed before it becomes your own.

Today, choose gratitude.
Send a message. Say thank you. Speak their names.
And if you are still searching for your support system, remember this: VMT Initiative - NGO is at your corner, send a DM, connect and commune with us. you deserve one.

Prior to expressing gratitude to others, permit me to acknowledge my own appreciation. Acknowledge the triumph of persevering, learning, and being present this year. Take a moment to recognize your own resilience in overcoming challenges that tested your resolve. This signifies personal growth and genuine gratitude.
