The CEO Mairo Women Foundation, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Maryamu Isa Barnabas Attends World Indigenous Day Celebration at Old Parade Ground, Abuja

Hon. Dr. Mrs. Maryamu Isa Barnabas graciously attended the World Indigenous Day celebration held at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja. In her address, she expressed her deep commitment to the cause of indigenous communities across Nigeria.

I humbled myself to be part of this important event because I am passionate about amplifying the voices of indigenous people, she said. “It is especially important to ensure that indigenous women are recognized, empowered, and never marginalized.”

Yesterday 04th August, at the Presidential Villa, The CEO Mairo Women Foundation Ushafa Hon. Maryamu Isa Barnabas joined the vice president Kashim Shettima ,the first lady senator Oluremi Tinubu and others at a reception in honour of Nigeria’s women national basketball team, D’Tigress, following their historic fifth consecutive victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship.
During the event vice president who represents president Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu says that the president has approved,
the monetary reward of the naira equivalent of $100,000 to each player and $50,000 equivalent to each technical crew member, President Tinubu has awarded each player and technical crew member with the title of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

The President also directed the allocation of one flat for each player, coach, and technical crew member.
