L’équipe du projet OCWAR-C a procédé au lancement officiel de l’atelier de mise en place du CSIRT national à Niamey, le 1er Juillet 2021.
L’objectif est de former des compétences locales afin de les permettre de mettre en place une stratégie de bonne gouvernance de la sécurité des systèmes d’information dans le cadre de la lutte contre la cybercriminalité.

The ECOWAS Commission, in collaboration with the European Union, Expertise France and the Government of Guinea officially launched the OCWAR-C project in the presence of the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, Saïd Oumar Koulibaly. A workshop was held on June 25 & 28 to identify the needs and methods of setting up the CSIRT, to raise awareness of digital hygiene and cybersecurity.

As part of the implementation of the project “Organized crime: West African response on cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime” (OCWAR-C), the ECOWAS Commission, in collaboration with the European Union, Expertise France and the Committee in charge of the Liberian National Commission for Cybersecurity Strategy proceeded on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 to the official launch of an awareness campaign on cybersecurity in Liberia.

La semaine des CSIRT de la CEDEAO a réunir des experts en cybersécurité de haut niveau, de la région et à l’international. Elle a tenu des sessions plénières, de tables rondes, de démonstrations techniques et de master class.
Les CSIRT des pays bénéficiaires se sont engagés à partager des informations sur l’organisation et la gestion de leurs CSIRT.
Les bonnes pratiques en matière d’amélioration de l’efficacité des équipes d’intervention en cas d’incident sont partagées et adoptées par tous les pays bénéficiaires.
Un ensemble de recommandations utilisant le Security Incident Management Maturity
Model (SIM3) pour aider les CSIRT émergents et existants à augmenter leur niveau de maturité a été adopté.

As part of the implementation of the project “Organised crime: West African response on cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime” (OCWAR-C), the ECOWAS Commission, in collaboration with the European Union, Expertise France and the Government of the Republic of Faso proceeded on Tuesday March 30 2021 with the official handing over of the equipment of the digital investigation laboratory, followed by the launch of an awareness campaign on cybersecurity in Burkina Faso.

On 9 and 10 November, cybercrime heads of units met in Accra to exchange on best practices, information sharing tools and explore ways to improve cooperation.
This meeting had the ambitions of:
▪ Provide an overview of developments and new typologies of cybercrime in the region
▪ Explore the possibilities of regional cooperation and identify legal and other blockages for this cooperation across the region.
▪ Harmonize training and capacity building needs.
▪ Highlight several international good practices.
▪ Build bridges between all units fighting cybercrime in the ECOWAS region and Mauritania in order to strengthen formal and informal cooperation
