Mr. President, taking the time to drop by and see to NACTAL members at the ongoing FIAP Town Hall Meeting/ Dialogue on Credible and peaceful Elections in South West Nigeria at D’Signature Towers and Hotel, Jericho, Ibadan, Nigeria.

In commemoration of the 2026 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons ( ) under the theme "Trapped Behind the Scam," the Director-General of NAPTIP, alongside agency officials, development partners, and stakeholders, visited the NAPTIP Shelter to spend meaningful time with survivors.

This visit reaffirmed shared commitment to survivor-centered care, victim protection, and restoring dignity to those affected by human trafficking.

Today, 31st July 2026, NACTAL held a strategic engagement meeting with representatives of the Voices Unchained Trafficking Survivor Initiative, a survivor-led organisation, to explore opportunities for collaboration in the fight against human trafficking and irregular migration. Mr. Osita Osemene, NACTAL's National Secretary/Head of Programs, received the delegation at the NACTAL National Secretariat and provided an overview of the network's mandate, structure, and commitment to strengthening survivor participation in advocacy, prevention, and response efforts.

The representatives of Voices Unchained Trafficking Survivor Initiative shared their mission of promoting safe and regular migration, raising awareness on the risks of human trafficking, supporting the reintegration of returnees, and empowering survivors through advocacy, rehabilitation, and community engagement. They emphasized the importance of leveraging their lived experiences to educate communities, prevent trafficking, and support fellow survivors.

In his response, Mr. Osita Osemene reaffirmed NACTAL's commitment to mentoring and supporting the institutional growth of the survivor-led initiative. He highlighted the importance of capacity building, credibility, leadership, and strategic partnerships in ensuring the organisation's sustainability and long-term impact. He also encouraged the group to remain focused, build strong institutional systems, and develop the expertise needed to become a credible voice in Nigeria's counter-trafficking space.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to sustained engagement, mentorship, and collaboration aimed at strengthening survivor-led initiatives and advancing collective efforts to combat human trafficking while promoting safe and regular migration across Nigeria.

She was identified by trafficking survivors during a training programme in Abeokuta. What followed was a dramatic intervention, arrest and prosecution.

NACTAL Nigeria Received a Delegation from the Turkiye National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (NAVRR) Mechanism.

On Wednesday, 24th June, 2026, NACTAL Nigeria National Project Manager granted audience to a 12 man Delegation from Turkiye NAVRR on behalf of the National President.

Speaking on behalf of the Delegation, Mr. Buchanivan - Head of Migration, Presidency of Migration Management (PMM) thanked NACTAL Nigeria for the audience and the enormous work in the fight against organised crime in Nigeria and West Africa sub - region.

According to Mr. Buchanivan, they are in Nigeria to introduced the NAVRR Mechanism and to identify reliable stakeholders to drive the process.

Responding , the National President welcomed the team and thanked them for identifying with NACTAL Nigeria.

The engagement resolved to formalised modalities on collaboration towards: child protection services, reintegration, capacity building for counsellors, and identification of migrants.
