INDISPENSABLE CONCERNS TO THE FAMILY OF ABDUCTEES AND IMMORTALISATION OF A HERO WHO WAS MURDERED IN THE CAUSE OF TEACHING THE NATION IN TEARS
Sulyman Hannafi M.A
ASWEC, Nigeria.
It's with heavy hearts of sadness and sorrow that we are expressing the indispensable concerns regarding the abduction of Mr. Micheal Oyedokun, a Mathematics teacher alongside other teachers and school children at Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yewota in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. Currently, the ongoing circulation of the released video of two victims among the captives begging the Oyo state and Federal government to come to their rescue by softening their voices during the dialogues with the kidnappers has in indeed exhumed more serious concerns in the nation. These captives are being traumatized, beaten, dehumanised secretely and publicly just because the system is failing them and still yet not set free.
Nigerians ! More than 14 days without freedom in a doom is a complex gory of traumas !. Although we have seen the government interventions but why the release negotiation is still being delayed ? Everyone knows that Mr. Oyedokun who was among the abductees had been killed, while another person has been chosen to be killed if the ฤฃovernment refuse to grant their requests before they can release the remaining abductees as said by Mrs. Rachael Alamu, the abducted principal of the school in the viral video.
And frankly in our state of minds, their situations are unbearable when someone watch the trending abductees's video and situation on ground which is transmitting to the world the level of uncurbed threatenings, beheadings, and continuous dehumanisations being suffered by the victims has really also made Nigerians feel disappointed with the saddening spirits that streams down our bloods as humans, mixing with painful pricking on our bones and morrows because of seemingly hopelesseness that is beclouding the senses and eyes of the abductees on whether they wouldn't be able to be set free and reunite with their families despite of numbers of appealings to the governments.
Dear government ! The evil doers and their brutalities of seeking for ransoms with gruesome killings in Nigeria are condemnable acts that deserve priority of saving lives no matter what the requests may entail or involve as far they are not requesting for another lives in exchange. If these abductors' request is what you can't offer, then switch the strategies or operation modes with immediate effects as we believe in peaceful dialogues and any other routes or mechanism as far the target of protection is fully guaranteed. Let remember that Nigerians' lives matter than a delay, our teachers and children should be desperately be searched for and fished out from the satanic dens of hideout. And aftermath to that priority, the tailing and investigative operations may be lauched, expecting the abductors to be served with what they deserve to be given by bringing them to book with worst punishments ever used in accordance with the law of the land by God's grace.
In whatsoever, this situation in Nigeria is a testament to the worst state of the nation which hadnt be able to detached itself from the several talks from the neighboring countries in different aspect of diplomatic roundtables and political spaces. Therefore, there should be more determined, persistent and sincere backing of security Interventions and collaborations with the community residents for information sourcing and local security networks like Ekun which has just being initiated by Igboho and other upcoming security initiatives and their equivalents in northern parts without tribal discrimination and religious segregation as there is no iota of doubt that this national mess and state of the nation as repeatedly noted is caused by our broken system, selfishness, economic injustice of our leaders, sponsored and unsponsored insecurities in order to paint or bring down a government with bad names at the brutal wastage of innocent souls.
Dear Nigerians, our repeating question had been always on why the insecurity intensification whenever the elections are approaching in Nigeria and few other African countries ?. Accepted there are insecurities before the approaching of the elections but why more of evils to the people who are even has no affiliation with politics ?. The bitter truth is that the more the innocent souls are being wasted the more difficulties ahead as that will not even pave the way to the change we want if we are to continue butchering the humans whose God of revenge never sleeps or slumbers in watching our actions.
Dear government, imagine the heartlessness of abducting hundreds of students and their teachers, beating the teachers in the presence of their students ? What a humiliation of highest level of be***al acts, illiteracy, and barbarism !. While the worst and hearts-bleeding parts is final beheading of one of them alive with recordings and finally being threw to the media for his family to see as a challenge to the constituted authority who is receiving security vote funds every month.
Nigerians! We have asked what our networks providers like , , , and others are contributing to security too. We all believe they claim to have our data ? We believe they must have been monitoring our data but why these animals are continously posting their humans'buchery acts without quick geoolocation arrests or immediate bombardements by our security personnels ?. Inability of being able to carry out all these operations is a BIG shame and how retrogressive we are in technological advancement we are claiming to have been achieved. All these are insecurity challenges in a country that appointed of information and technology without timeous rescue update from the rescue teams that were onboarded to the suspecting scene of crimes.
O Nigerians ! Arise by protecting yourself with all the legitimate means of protections. We pray for the victimized and the bereaved families in Nigeria as a whole to have a strong fortitude to bear the loss of those who have lost their lives in this battle. We pray for the safe return of the Oyo abductees as we bereave with the family of a hero who died in the cause of teaching a nation.
We are also calling on Oyo State and Federal government to try more in all their possible ways in rescuing the remaining captives alive from the den of beasts and satans in humans' form. In suspension here, the Union of Teachers (NUT) is appreciated for the nation wide strike as we anticipate the Federal Ministry of Education to take tangible and bold steps too with the slogans Back Our Teachers with no compromise to Justice. Nigerians' lives matter and our teachers are precious to our coming generations of young leaders.
Mr. Micheal Oyedokun's family should be looked after resourcefully, and financially. His name needs to be immortalized as a fallen hero who died in the cause of the most noble profession in the world.
We pray for more peaceful atmosphere in our beloved country. May He direct our noble cause, guide our leaders right and cleanse us from the curse of unlawful blood sheddings
(Amen).
