Leadership Transition at SLIDEN AFRICA

The Livelihoods Support and Development Centre (SLIDEN AFRICA) is pleased to announce a new phase of leadership within the organisation.

Dr. Oluwabunmi Adeuyi has assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees, while Miss Olumentiola Adebayo has been appointed Coordinator and
Dr. Olubukola Osuntade, Dr. Olusola Olagoke, and Ms. Oludayo Olowu as members of the Board of Trustees.

We express our sincere appreciation to our outgoing Chairman, Prof. Kola Adebayo, for his exemplary leadership and dedicated service. We also acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our founding pioneers(Prof. Eniola Fabusoro, Prof. Idris Ayinde, Dr. Samson Odedina) whose vision, commitment, and sacrifice established the strong foundation upon which SLIDEN AFRICA continues to grow.

As we embark on this new chapter, the incoming leadership remains committed to upholding the values, mission, and vision of SLIDEN AFRICA while advancing our impact in livelihoods support, sustainable development, and community empowerment across Africa.

As part of our unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable livelihoods, SLIDEN Africa, through its Livelihoods Support and Development Centre, proudly supported academic excellence at the 46th Graduation Ceremony of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan (FCAIB).
In fulfilment of a pledge made on behalf of the Centre by Prof. Kolawole Adebayo, a total sum of ₦750,000 has been fully disbursed as cash awards to outstanding graduating students of the College.

Under the SLIDEN AFRICA–FUNAAB Agribusiness Apprenticeship Scheme (SAFAAS), apprentices recently completed the mechanised threshing and bagging of maize they planted, nurtured, and harvested for market.

This activity exposed participants to:
🔹 Mechanised post-harvest operations
🔹 Quality handling and bagging for market readiness
🔹 The full agribusiness cycle—from production to commercialization

Beyond farming, SAFAAS is equipping young people with real-world agribusiness skills, emphasizing efficiency, scale, and market orientation. By integrating modern machinery into training, the programme prepares apprentices to operate confidently in today’s evolving agri-food systems.

CHANGE OF VENUE - 2026 SLIDEN AFRICA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

We have received communication from our host in Sierra Leone that the 2026 International Conference of SLIDEN AFRICA can no longer hold in Sierra Leone as scheduled. As such, the Coordinator is now in discussion with our member in the Kingdom of Eswatini (Swaziland). She has agreed to host us and they are now finalising the details which would be released soon.

Please, accept our apologies for any inconsistencies this shift may cause.
