Today, we visited Umunnabuode, Ezillo to mediate on a family land boundary dispute, met with the elders and key stakeholders of the community, who patiently shared in details the history and underlying causes of the dispute.

The engagement created an atmosphere of openness, understanding, and mutual respect.

After constructive dialogue, all parties expressed their commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution in the interest of the family and the wider community.

We commend the elders, stakeholders, and everyone involved for choosing dialogue over division. Peace is built when communities come together to listen, understand, and seek justice.

HRCRC Branches and volunteers all over Ebonyi State, represented by their leaders gathered in our headquarters with branch coordinators, and some team members last Saturday for her second quarterly meeting for 2026. The meeting as usual saw to the harmonization of objectives, goals and interventions in the communities and villages of Ebonyi State. Also, there was a free quick medical check of vitals for all branch members and leaders.

Furthermore, HRCRC Executive Director Facilitated a Stepdown Seminar on Countering and Confronting Disinformation, Misinformation and Mal-information; the imperativeness of Factchecking and utmost obligation to CHECK BEFORE YOU POST; especially during this sensitive times of electioneering in Nigeria. It will be further cascaded by these leaders to all branches, branch members and volunteers throughout the State, with commitments to confront the spread of fake news, and wrong information in this age of Artificial and Synthetic Intelligence.

Over the past week, we have continued our commitment to promoting justice, peace, and human dignity across Ebonyi State.

We intervened in a number of matters through mediation sessions and court proceedings, addressing issues ranging from land and boundary disputes to harmful widowhood practices in urban communities, as well as cases of gender-based violence affecting individuals and families.

Through these interventions, HRCRC remains dedicated to ensuring access to justice, protecting vulnerable persons, and fostering peaceful coexistence within our communities.

Taking Peace into the Classroom!

At HRCRC, we believe that building peaceful communities starts with our young people and that means meeting them where they are.

Last week, we made our first visit to Presco Secondary School, Abakaliki marking an exciting new chapter in our Schools Sensitization Programme on combating phone addiction and unlocking the life-changing power of mindfulness.

This initial contact is just the beginning. We are committed to walking this journey with students, teachers, and school communities equipping young minds with the awareness and tools they need to thrive in a distraction-filled world.
