GLAD WE MADE THEM SMILE
Yesterday, the 4th of March, 2025 would remain memorable in our hearts as we created smiles on the faces of our tender children and received the gifts of our lives in return.
In our humble yet passionate mission to inspire learning and stir a deep love for our beloved Ebonyi State in the hearts of her youngest citizens, we journeyed to Primary School Ezillo, nestled in the warm and welcoming Ezillo community of Ishielu Local Government Area.
This was our first official Community Service Development program
We didn’t meet their classrooms in the best conditions as some of their roofs had been blown away by the wind, a thing we hoped should have drawn the attention of stakeholders.
However, armed not with riches, but with purpose, we came bearing simple gifts—exercise books, biros, pencils, sharpeners, and school bags. Tools, yes—but in them, seeds of hope. The smiles that greeted us from the pupils and teachers lit up the day brighter than the sun overhead. Their joy was pure. Their laughter, infectious. Their gratitude—unforgettable.
We spoke to the children—not just about school—but about pride in oneself and purpose. About the beauty of growing up Ebonyi. We reminded them that through education, they carry the power to lift their families, transform their communities, and shape a brighter future for our state and our nation.
We distributed the materials we came with and pledged to make new uniforms for a few of the brilliant students who recited correctly the song we taught them and in return, they gave us something money can’t buy—their joy, their dreams, and those wide-eyed smiles we will carry in our hearts forever.
We intend to plead with the Local Government authority to show empathy and look the way of renovation of those fallen roofs and more.
We may not have the treasures of this world, but we have a heart and we are willing to share it with as many persons as God gives us enablement.
At the Ebonyi Dream Project, we may not hold silver or gold, but what we have is a heart full of love—and we pour it out freely, as God gives us the strength. You too can be a reason someone smiles
