ities. We achieve our goals through two major programs.
- Education Program: Under this program, we execute literacy development projects, where we adopt community primary schools and leverage our trained volunteers to facilitate best teaching practices in them. Through our Adoption a distance pathway (ADP), sponsors adopt indigent out-of-school children by paying their tuition or other school needs in at least one academic year.

- Youths Development Program: Our volunteers form a network of young people who we equip with the necessary training to be able to thrive economically and to also create innovative and sustainable solutions to global sustainability challenges in their communities' context.

The early years are not a waiting period, they are some of the most important years of a child’s life.

This is when children begin to develop language, build confidence, solve problems, and form the foundations for future learning.

Yet, many children do not receive the support they need during this critical stage.

At Y4RED, we believe that investing in early childhood learning is one of the most powerful ways to shape better outcomes for children, families, and communities.

Because when we invest early, we don’t just prepare children for school.

We prepare them for life.

Join us in creating brighter beginnings for more children.

A child who gets every answer right is impressive.

A child who keeps trying after getting it wrong is learning.

Too often, we celebrate results and overlook the effort it took to get there. But confidence is built when children know that their attempts matter, not just their achievements.

When we praise effort, we teach children that mistakes are part of learning, not something to be ashamed of.

At Y4RED, we encourage children to keep trying, keep asking questions, and keep learning. Because resilience often begins with a simple reminder:

“You may not have gotten it right today, but you’re making progress.”

What is one way you encourage a child when they’re struggling to learn?

The future of any community is shaped by the opportunities its children have today and the role its young people are empowered to play.

At Y4RED, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. We also believe that young people are not just beneficiaries of change, they are powerful drivers of it.

Through our work, we are supporting children’s learning while creating pathways for youths to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Because when children are given a strong start and young people are equipped to lead, communities thrive.

Join the conversation today. Support the work. Help us create more opportunities for children and youths.

“Who wants to read this?”

The room went quiet.

A few children looked down at their desks. Some avoided eye contact completely. Others smiled nervously, hoping the teacher would call on someone else.

It wasn’t because they didn’t want to learn.

They were afraid of getting it wrong.

Afraid of being laughed at.
Afraid of making mistakes.
Afraid of discovering that the words on the page still didn’t make sense to them.

For many children, struggling to read doesn’t just affect learning, it affects confidence.

This is one of the reasons we started the Ebonyi Literacy Project (ELP).

Through ELP, we create spaces where children are encouraged to try, make mistakes, ask questions, and learn without fear. We work with them patiently, helping them build the literacy skills and confidence they need to participate fully in the classroom.

Because no child should feel afraid when asked to read.

Help us create more moments where children raise their hands with confidence.

A child should not have to be brave just to go to school.

Yet, across Nigeria, children are walking into classrooms with a risk they should never have to carry. Parents are sending their children to school and hoping they return home safely. Teachers are showing up to work knowing that schools are no longer guaranteed safe spaces.

The recent kidnapping of pupils and teachers is not just another news story. It is a reminder that for many Nigerian children, the right to education is being threatened by insecurity.

We cannot keep celebrating access to education while ignoring the conditions under which children are expected to learn.

A child who is afraid cannot focus.
A teacher who feels unsafe cannot teach effectively.
A school under threat cannot fulfill its purpose.

This has gone beyond isolated incidents. It is a growing challenge that demands urgent attention.

If we believe children are the future, then protecting them must be a priority today.

Speak up. Start conversations. Demand safer schools. Refuse to let this become normal.

Because every child deserves to learn without fear.

“Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child.”

But what does inclusion really mean when children are being kidnapped from schools?
When teachers are killed for simply showing up to teach?
When parents have to fear whether their children will return home from class?

The recent kidnapping of pupils and teachers in Oyo State is a painful reminder that for many Nigerian children, safety is still not guaranteed, even in places meant for learning.

Children cannot learn in fear.
Teachers cannot teach in fear.
And we cannot celebrate children while ignoring the realities many of them face.

Today is not just about hashtags or speeches. It is a reminder that protecting children must be treated as an urgent responsibility.

We need safer schools.
We need stronger protection for children and educators.
We need to stop normalizing these tragedies.

Speak up. Demand action. Protect children.

Happy Children’s Day!

To every child learning, growing, asking questions, making mistakes, trying again, laughing loudly, and dreaming freely; today is for you.

May you always be surrounded by people who listen to you, support you, and remind you that your voice, your learning, and your future matter.

Keep growing. Keep shining. Keep being children.

Children learn better when they feel safe.

Safe enough to ask questions.
Safe enough to make mistakes.
Safe enough to try again without embarrassment.

For many children, confidence in learning starts with the environment around them.

At Y4RED, we try to create learning spaces where children feel seen, supported, and comfortable enough to participate fully. Because learning becomes easier when fear is removed from the process.

A child who feels safe is more likely to speak, read, try, and grow.

That is the kind of learning environment we believe every child deserves.

Help us create more learning environments where children can thrive.
