A MESSAGE TO THE WORLD

To me, the Four-Way Test is more than a Rotary principle written on a signpost. It is a simple reminder of the kind of person we should strive to be every day.

In a world where people can easily say anything, do anything, and make decisions without considering how it affects others, the Four-Way Test asks us to pause and reflect: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

I believe that if we sincerely applied these four questions to our words, our actions, our relationships, and our leadership, our communities would be better places.

This signpost is therefore not just a structure standing by the roadside. It is an invitation to everyone who sees it,to think before speaking, to act with fairness, to choose kindness, and to make decisions that benefit others.

My hope is that every person who reads the Four-Way Test will not only see the words, but will allow them to become a way of life.

Truth. Fairness. Goodwill. Benefit to all.
That is what the Four-Way Test means to me.

The fellowship/project was a successful and impactful membership awareness and extension activity aimed at creating awareness about Rotaract and encouraging more young people to become actively involved in the organization.

The project began with a sensitization and canvassing exercise across hostels and different school environments. Rotaractors moved around, engaging students and young people in meaningful conversations about Rotaract. During this exercise, participants were educated on what Rotaract is, its connection with Rotary, its opportunities for leadership and personal development, as well as the importance of service to the community. Questions and misconceptions about Rotaract were also addressed, while interested students were encouraged to learn more and consider becoming members.

Following the sensitization exercise, the team proceeded to the mounting of the Rotaract membership signpost. This served as a physical visibility and awareness tool within the school environment, making it easier for students and visitors to identify and learn about Rotaract. The mounting of the signpost also represented a lasting contribution of the project to the club’s visibility and membership extension efforts.

The project concluded with a membership seminar, which brought together participants for a more detailed discussion on Rotaract membership. The seminar provided an opportunity to further educate participants on the value of joining Rotaract, leadership development, networking, community service, personal growth, professional development, and the various opportunities available through the organization.

Overall, the fellowship/project was engaging, educative, and impactful. It successfully combined practical sensitization, physical visibility, and structured education to promote Rotaract. The activities created greater awareness of the organization, generated interest among potential members, strengthened the club’s presence within the school environment.
