There is need for a system and structure to administer local grassroots community football across Abia State and Nigeria at large.
United Stars FA constituted in 2004 for youth development and promotion, which leads us to join the global development of small sided game's as mandatory training, tournament and leagues for children and young adults. We can make a change how underage training and matches is played in Abia State and Nigeria as hole. we need to set out an overall system that is based on player development. This requires us to adapt the small side game's to meet the needs of children and not change children to meet the requirements of the game football
United Stars FA and its international Partner's 3V3WORLD by BazookaGoal to introduce a road map to Abia Grassroots Football Restructuring. The road map will see a journey for young players that build and progression their learning and development as they head towards the adults version of the game.
We have had a tendency to rush kid's to 11 aside game format mistaking children for mini-adults and putting them into adults environment too early. Putting children on a full size pitch at the age ten(10) is not good for them, with small side game's every player get;
* More touches of the ball, develop technical
* More dribbling opportunity
*More short and scoring more goals
*More involved in the game, involvement means rapid growth.
For a better grassroots future we need the whole grassroots football community to work together to create uniformity no matter where they are ib the State. The good work that has been on ground by the grassroots coaches here for many years, but we're now seeking to build on those efforts so that every Coach, Player can benefit. which will lead to an improvement in our grassroots football system. We believe the future can be very bright for Abia State Grassroots Football Community.
The small side formats will help Coaches, Clubs, Administrators, parents and other stakeholders in development of young players to understand how the game will change at the different stage and how our young players will reap the benefits of small side game's.
Player development and players enjoying football is the core philosophy to the development pathway. whilst understanding that children are naturally competitive,we need to focus on, and understand the importance of, player development versus simply winning matches winning at all costs inhibits player development and can lead to a sense of frustration and failure.
