Who are Lions

The Association of Lions Club, in short "Lions International", was founded in 1917 by Chicago businessman Melvin Jones with the aim to encourage dedicated businessmen and community leaders to engage themselves in service activities for the betterment of their communities under the simple motto "We serve". To meet challenges under this motto is something that unites Lions around the

world. It is unconditional and it is not limited to continents or restricted to certain causes. Their mission "to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary service through community involvement and international co-operation" soon spread around the world, encouraging service-minded people to emulate such a noble course.

Another meaningful food handover took place as part of our Winter Food Drive, with a generous donation delivered to the seniors at Seniorpark in Pioneerspark.

It was a privilege to support the residents with essential food items and bring a little extra warmth and care to their winter.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who opened their hearts to donate. Your generosity made this handover possible and shows just how much we can achieve when our community comes together.

As part of our Winter Food Drive, we were honoured to donate food hampers to Bright Smiles Academy, helping to provide much-needed support to the children and families they serve.

Every contribution, big or small, is a reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together with kindness and compassion. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and helped make this initiative a success.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping us spread hope, care, and warmth this winter. Together, we are building a stronger, more caring community. 🥰

Winter Food Drive Handover ❤️

This morning, we had the privilege of delivering 17 food hampers to the residents of Eastern Court as part of our first Winter Food Drive.

Each hamper contained a variety of essential food items to provide support during the colder winter months.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who donated food and contributed to this initiative. Your generosity and kindness made this handover possible and will have a meaningful impact on the lives of those who received these hampers.

Lions Club Windhoek Alte Feste Winter Food Drive, happening this Saturday, 6 June at Maerua SuperSpar! 🦁

Donate non-perishables like rice, pasta, maize meal, canned foods, soup mix, lentils, and long-life milk to help fill the box for those in need. Every contribution makes a difference this winter!

Every item donated goes directly toward supporting families struggling through the cold winter months here in Windhoek.
