🏕️ 30 learners from different schools in Rundu participated in a Leadership and Team Building Camp at Frans Dimbare Rural Youth Training Centre through the KAYEC Youth Development Programme.

The camp provided an opportunity for young people to develop leadership skills, build teamwork, and enjoy the beautiful river views and sunsets.

Scouts of Namibia successfully hosted its 1st National Jamboree from 13–17 May 2026 at Rock Lodge Training Centre, outside Okahandja, bringing together about 100 Scouts from across Namibia, including 5 Scouts from Kavango East KAYEC Scouts. ⚜️

The Jamboree promoted unity, leadership, teamwork, and life skills through fun and educational activities. The event was well organized, and all Scouts had an unforgettable experience.

Thank you to the organizing committee, Scout leaders, volunteers, and parents for your trust and support in making this event a success.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting 7 learners from ELCIN Nkurenkuru High School for their Task 5 Entrepreneurial project, focused on giving back to the community.

Over the course of 3 days, these dedicated learners made a meaningful impact at our centre. Their activities included cleaning the centre grounds, engaging children through arts, crafts, painting, and fun games, as well as donating clothes and other essential items to support those in need.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to ELCIN Nkurenkuru High School for the continued trust in allowing learners to serve and grow through community engagement each year. Your commitment to shaping responsible and compassionate young people does not go unnoticed.

A special thank you also goes to Rundu Multi-Purpose Centre for accommodating the learners and providing a space where they could carry out their activities successfully.

We successfully concluded a meaningful Parents Workshop hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare in collaboration with KAYEC.

Parents engaged on key topics including challenges affecting children, roles under the Child Care and Protection Act, parenting styles, strengthening parent–child relationships, and promoting positive masculinity, discipline, and mentorship.
A special thank you to the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare for leading and supporting this important initiative.

🌟 Youth Financial Literacy Workshop – Rundu 🌟
We are proud to have successfully concluded a 3-day Financial Literacy Workshop at the Rundu Multipurpose Youth Resource Centre, reaching over 82 youth aged 18–35.

The workshop created a powerful platform for learning, sharing, and engagement, with participants actively contributing and showing great interest in topics that directly impact their daily lives and future.
💡 Key sessions were delivered by our valued partners:

- Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation – Mental Health and Finances (financial stress, coping strategies, wellbeing)
- Namibia – Smart Money Management for Youth (budgeting, saving, banking services, credit & debt)
- Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture – Credit Scheme Programs (youth funding opportunities, responsible borrowing)
- Anti-Corruption Commission Namibia – Corruption Awareness Among Youth (impact of corruption, integrity, accountability)

👏 We extend our sincere appreciation to all our partner presenters for their commitment to youth development and for sharing valuable knowledge and practical insights.
This impactful workshop was made possible through the generous support of the FirstRand Foundation Trust / Namibia.

The level of participation and engagement clearly shows that there is a significant gap and strong need for collaborative platforms that address financial literacy, mental wellbeing, and ethical leadership among youth.

1st Cycling Competition – A Huge Success! Rundu Centre|

We are proud to celebrate the success of our very first cycling competition for this year, proudly sponsored by FNB Namibia - RMB and the Namibian Cycling Federation! 🙌

The event brought together passionate riders between the ages of 8 and 18 years, who showcased incredible talent, determination, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all our winners who rode their way to victory and proudly took home their medals! 🥇🥈🥉

This is just the beginning! The energy, excitement, and support we witnessed have set the stage for something even bigger. We are excited to announce that preparations for the 2nd Series of the Competition are already underway!

Our trainers have successfully completed a Training of Trainers (ToT) program delivered by Berlin Vocational Training School experts, AGRA, and Leermeester Leather, with specialized training in:

🚪 Door Fitting & Glazing
🎨 Painting
🪵 Fencing
👜 Creative design with upscaling materials
From April to November, these trainers will pass on their skills to the community — training 20 participants per course.
