We encourage the development, recognition, appreciation of pottery and ceramics; we hold exhibitions, publish regular newsletters, and distribute related magazines. Furthermore, by providing practical workshops, technical, skills development, arranging and encouraging social interaction, we support the interest of like-minded persons.

Over the past two weekends, PAN had the pleasure of hosting South African potter Shelley Maisel in Namibia. Through workshops in Windhoek and Swakopmund, participants explored new techniques, challenged their handbuilding skills, and experimented with oxides and underglazes. Under Shelley's guidance, our potters created an inspiring range of new work while expanding their creative practice.

A heartfelt thank you to Shelley Maisel Ceramics for sharing her knowledge and passion with Namibia's pottery community. We would also like to thank the Capricorn Asset Management for their continued support of PAN and their commitment to helping grow and strengthen the pottery and ceramic arts in Namibia.

20 local potters will be showcasing a mix of functional ware, art pieces, and unique handmade ceramics. Expect beautiful work, good energy, and a space filled with creativity.

Join us for a relaxed Saturday to meet local makers and experience the growing ceramics community in Namibia.

On 12 and 13 June, the Potters' Association of Namibia hosted From Noise to Voice, a workshop led by potter and artist Betsie van Rensburg.

Designed as an exploration of the subconscious through symbols, the workshop invited participants to reflect on the stories, instincts, and personal imagery that inform their creative practice. Through discussion, observation, and making, Betsie encouraged participants to delve deeper into what makes them tick — not only as individuals, but ultimately as artists.

These images capture moments from that journey: thoughtful, exploratory, and deeply personal encounters with creativity, clay, and self-discovery.

Home: an exhibition inviting you not only to observe, but to connect.

Featuring handcrafted wood pieces, artistic lamps, illustrations, photography, ceramics, and shoes, each work brings its own meaning, spirit, and identity into a space, demonstrating how such forms shape a space into a home.

The exhibition opens on 16 May 2026 and will remain on view until 16 June 2026 at the Woermannhaus Art Gallery.
