The Omaruru OlympAfrica Centre was proud to host the OlympAfrica O! YES Inclusive Workshop, bringing together young people, community leaders, educators, and stakeholders in a celebration of inclusion, friendship, and opportunity.

Through sport and educational programmes, the workshop created a meaningful platform where every child and young person, regardless of background or ability, could feel valued, respected, and empowered to participate. The initiative reinforces the belief that sport has the power to unite communities, build confidence, and inspire positive social change.

We extend our sincere appreciation our Government, the Omaruru Municipality, Special Olympics Namibia, facilitators, participants, and all our valued partners whose continued support helps the Omaruru OlympAfrica Centre create safe and inclusive spaces where children can learn, grow, play, and thrive.

Together, we continue to build stronger communities and brighter futures through the values of respect, inclusion, teamwork, and friendship.

A proud and historic moment for Namibian volleyball is here! πŸ‡³πŸ‡¦πŸ

After more than 15 years, Namibia is once again sending both its senior national teams to compete in an Olympic qualification event, marking a major milestone for the sport and a significant achievement for our athletes, coaches, and administrators.

The Desert Queens and Desert Warriors will proudly represent Namibia at the CAVB Zone VI Senior Nations LA28 Olympic Games Qualifier in Harare, Zimbabwe, from 7 to 14 June 2026. This prestigious tournament is part of the journey towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and will see five nations competing for regional honors and the opportunity to advance on the Olympic pathway.

Recognizing the importance of this opportunity, the Namibia National Olympic Committee, through the support of Olympic Solidarity, proudly provided USD 50,000 to the Namibia Volleyball Federation to assist in sending both national teams to this landmark competition.

This is more than a tournament. It is a chance for Namibia’s athletes to test themselves against the region’s best, gain invaluable international experience, and showcase the growing strength of Namibian volleyball on a major stage.

The return of Namibia to this level of competition after more than a decade and a half is a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and hard work of everyone involved in the sport. As the Desert Queens and Desert Warriors prepare to compete, the entire nation stands behind them with pride and excitement.

The road to LA28 begins here. Good luck, Desert Queens. Good luck, Desert Warriors. Make Namibia proud! πŸ‡³πŸ‡¦πŸ”₯🏐
