On Friday the 7th of March 2025 Ananias Shikongo and Johannes Nambala under the umbrella of Sport on the Move Foundation visited Eluwa Resource School in Ongwediva, where they have schooled. The purpose of this visit was not only to honor the school' contributions towards their sport achievements, but also to give back, to encourage learners to engage in sport and to remind them that they can achieve anything in life if they put their effort into it. It is important to motivate learners with disabilities to know that they should not only rely on education but sport can also be a way to achieve their goals. Sport on the Move Foundation is contributing these sport equipment to support government's effort to promote sport. As a wise man said :"Blessed is the hand that gives but not that take":

Verzamelen maar! De Paralympische Spelen van Paris 2024 zijn al weer een poosje achter de rug, maar we blikken alweer vooruit naar LA2028! Het trainingskamp was cruciaal in de voorbereiding en de atleten komen graag volgend jaar weer terug. Elk beetje telt en dus verzamelen we samen met onze trouwe supporters The Bike Store lege statiegeld flessen en blikjes in. Help je mee?! Doneren kan in de winkel in Zutphen of bij de stichting in Enschede!

Johannes Nambala PLY just missed out on medaling at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. His Seasons Best was good for the 4th position in the Men's 400m T11 event. The preparation was not ideal given the injury he faced. We are still super proud of Johannes competing at the highest level of Paralympic sports! 🙌

Finals it is! Ananias Shikongo PLY and guide Even Tjiuiju ran a Season Best in 11.18s in the Men's 100m T11 semi-finals. It was a thrilling race with three heats and only 4 can go to the finals. The best of each heat qualifies and then 1 with the next fastest time. Ananias and Even finished 2nd in their heat and had to wait for the last heat to see if they qualified. Luckily their time was good enough for the finals tomorrow!

Also Chris Kinda and Kelvin Goagoseb competed in the semi-finals of the Men's 100m T11. They gave everything they had and reach the finish line in 11.60s. Good for the 10th position and very well done for our first time Paralypians!

Tomorrow it will be a busy day for team Namibia. Johannes Nambala PLY runs the final in his favourite 400m T13 event in the morning. He is followed by Lahja Ish*tile PLY and guide Sem Shimanda in the Women's 200m T11 round 1. In the evening we will see Ananias Shikongo PLY and guide Even Tjiuiju again to race for the medals in 100m!

We are warming up for the next round tonight! Both Ananias Shikongo PLY with guide Even Tjiuiju and Chris Kinda with guide Kelvin Goagoseb qualified for the 100m T11 semi-finals in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Ananias and Even ran a strong race setting their Season Best of 11.39s. They finished first in their heat that made them qualify straight to the semi-finals.

Chris and Kelvin experienced some hassle at the start where they received a yellow card. Luckily they could proceed the race where they finished third in their heat in a time of 11.57s. This was enough to qualify for the semi-finals as well.

Karuli Petrus faced a challenging day in the Men's T37 400 meters at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Unfortunately, his race ended in disappointment as he was disqualified for a lane infringement. Despite initially showing strong potential in the early part of the race, Petrus was found to have stepped outside his designated lane, which led to his disqualification from the event.

This setback comes after his previous participation in the 100 meters, where he also faced tough competition. The disqualification is undoubtedly a tough blow for Petrus. However, his efforts and determination remain commendable as he continues to represent Namibia on the global stage at the Paralympic Games 🇳🇦

We had a thrilling semi-final with Lahja Ish*tile and guide Sem Shimanda yesterday. After setting an Area Record in the Women's 100m T11 in round 1, they did just missed out the final round by 0.006 seconds after finishing in 12.19s in the semi-finals. That's the sport as well! Our golden Ferrari and her guide can now rest and prepare for the 200m event.

This morning we are on the lookout for another Namibian athlete Karuli Petrus who is competing in the first round of the Men's 400m T37 (Cerebral Palsy) event.

We are still proud of you setting a new Area Record in the 100m T11 event Lahja Ish*tile PLY and Sem Shimanda!
