Lifeline/Childline Namibia Lifeline/Childline is a Non Governmental Organisation providing counselling to people all over Namibia, focusing on restoring hope and changing lives.

LifeLine/ChildLine (LLCL) Namibia has been in existence for more than 40 years and is recognised as the leading Child Welfare Civil Society Organisation in Namibia, with its Head Office in Windhoek, as well as Satellite Offices in Ondangwa, Oshikango, and Rundu. Besides a strong and experienced Board, LLCL currently has 72 staff members, including a cohort of technical experts in the areas of child welfare and child development, and over 200 active community-based counsellors and facilitators.

This week, our voices were in the room at the Engaging Men and Boys Symposium (7-8 October 2026, Windhoek), where partners came together to build a shared agenda for gender equality and wellbeing in Namibia.

Elize Prins, Lifeline/Childline Namibia's Gender Manager & Acting Counselling Manager, shared experience from the field in the Practice Showcase on working with men and boys.

Uitani Childline Radio presenter, Elvis Masule, joined the panel "The Future We Want: From Reaching Men and Boys for Change." He expressed his experience with mental health as a boy child in Namibia.

Thank you to the Office of the First Spouse, DEN Foundation, UNFPA, Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Namibia, Regain TRUST and the EU for creating space for this work. When we raise boys who feel seen, heard and supported, we build safer homes and stronger communities.

Over the past few days, our team has been in Noordoewer, connecting with communities and schools and creating safe spaces for important conversations around mental health, GBV, su***de prevention, substance abuse and other challenges affecting young people.

Together with Development Workshop Namibia and its sponsors, we engaged learners at EHW Baard Primary School and Noordoewer Junior Secondary School on bullying, peer pressure, self-esteem, domestic violence, cyberbullying, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, mental strength and su***de prevention.

Today, we wrap up the outreach by offering counselling and psychosocial support, with referrals where further assistance is needed.

A heartfelt thank you to the learners, schools, community and partners for opening their doors and being part of these conversations. 💙

Because sometimes, being heard is the first step towards getting help.

Small actions can spark big change.

LifeLine/ChildLine Namibia is incredibly grateful to Milano Gogol, Head Boy of Windhoek Gymnasium, for turning compassion into action through his Buddy Project.

For two weeks, Milano encouraged fellow learners to purchase green ribbons, with all proceeds donated to LLCL Namibia. Beyond raising funds, the initiative aimed to raise awareness about mental health among young people and encourage open conversations around an issue that affects so many.

Today, Milano officially handed over the funds raised through the project to LLCL Director, Nicolette Bessinger. We are truly grateful to Milano, Windhoek Gymnasium, and every learner who supported this meaningful initiative.

Your leadership, kindness, and commitment to promoting mental health awareness are an inspiration.

And now, we want to challenge other schools across Namibia: What can you do to make mental health a priority in your school and community?

Whether it is a fundraising initiative, an awareness campaign, or simply creating a safe space for conversations, every action counts.

Today, we had a meaningful time with the learners at Delta Primary School, talking about something that matters deeply: mental health and su***de prevention. 💛

With the Lower Primary learners, we used puppets, stories and interactive activities to make conversations about emotions, asking for help and caring for others easier and more relatable.

The Upper Primary learners had their own session where we explored mental health, warning signs, healthy support systems and where to turn when things feel difficult.

These conversations may seem small, but they can leave a big impact. Every child deserves to know that their feelings are valid, their voice matters and they never have to face difficult moments alone. 💛

On 17 September 2026, we celebrated 72 Pre-Primary teachers who successfully participated in our School Readiness Initiative (SRI) in the Erongo Region.

A day of learning, growth, dedication and celebration! Thank you to our teachers, partners and stakeholders for helping build stronger foundations for our children’s future. Your dedication is shaping young minds and inspiring brighter futures.

Teachers also shared inspiring reflections on how the Early Learning Kiosk (ELK) has supported their daily teaching, strengthened their classroom practices, and enhanced learning experiences for young children.
