Today, the National Housing Enterprise (NHE), led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Gisbertus Mukulu and members of the Executive Management team, hosted Mr. Zwelibanzi Sapula, Executive Director of the SADC Development Finance Resource Centre (SADC-DFRC), during his working visit to Namibia. The courtesy meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral engagement, exchange insights on regional development finance priorities, and explore areas of mutual interest and collaboration aimed at accelerating housing delivery in Namibia.
During the engagement, Mr. Mukulu emphasized that housing provision remains a national priority and noted that strategic partnerships are essential to expanding access to affordable housing for Namibians. Mr. Sapula welcomed the engagement and reaffirmed SADC-DFRC’s commitment to supporting development institutions in member countries through innovative finance solutions that advance sustainable development.

Project site visit - The CEO of the Enterprise, Mr Gisbertus Mukulu, toured key housing projects in Eenhana, Oshakati and Ongwediva this morning to inspect progress and gain firsthand insights on the projects. The CEO was briefed that 33 of the 54 houses in Oshakati are completed, while 30 of the 100 units in Eenhana are expected to be completed in September this year. The 10 units in Ongwediva will be ready for occupation in October 2026.

Mr. Mukulu encouraged contractors to ensure that practical completion is done within the specified project ex*****on timeframe. NHE Deputy Chairperson, Mr. Hasting Tjipueja accompanied the CEO.

Handed over - 24 new home owners received keys to their brand new houses at a ceremony held in Opuwo earlier today. Urban and Rural Development Minister, Hon. Sankwasa James Sankwasa handed over the houses, marking the completion of the Mass Housing Development Programme in Kunene Region.

Arrival - Urban and Rural Development Minister, Hon Sankwasa James Sankwasa, has arrived at Otuzemba location in Opuwo, Kunene Region, where he will officiate at the official handover of 24 completed houses built under the Mass Housing Development Programme to deserving beneficiaries. NHE Deputy Chairperson, Mr. Hasting Tjipueja is leading the NHE delegation comprising of the CEO, Mr. Gisbertus Mukulu and management.
