Today, the i-BreakFree Project & Youth Opportunity pillar wrapped up a 4-day AFLA Youth training in Oshakati, Oshana region.
55 young people from the Omusati and Ohangwena regions were trained on business and financial skills including how to identify a business idea, business planning, budgeting, and marketing.
Speaking during the final day of the training, Elsie Shikindo from BIPA Namibia explained that having a registered business is essential for participating fully in the business industry.
Joel Victoria, Founder & Director of Circle of Hope Private Academy, reminded participants to study their markets carefully, & that business location matters.
She challenged participants to think strategically and be willing to start small.
“How can you strategically position yourself and use what you have or what is available to thrive?” she asked.
Participants were cautioned about taking loans without a clear business plan.
Joel Victoria highlighted, “loans are good, but you must project and understand how you are going to use them and pay them back. Can you even afford it?”
Closing the 4-day training, our Senior Programmes Officer, Lelly Amunyela, encouraged participants to use the information and put the knowledge they learnt in practice to build sustainable businesses.
Participants were awarded certificates of attendance. 🙌🏾
