•Humility and recognize that we belong to a larger movement fighting for the rights and welfare of women. Women movement in Namibia
Namibia is known for it’s progressive laws and policies however there is a lack of political will to have a national dialogue on key issues affecting women in general including the Le***an, Bisexual, Transgender and WSW community. Quality of health and legal services for Namibian women have been compromised to an extent that it has created a domino effective in which other vulnerable groups have been deprived from basic fundamental human rights. The allocation of resources from state has taken a selective approach, which impedes on effective and efficient partnerships with government. The unrelenting struggles that fall hard on our women and young girls include: Violence and its origin; Teenage pregnancy; Alcohol and Drug Abuse and lack of economic and social empowerment, these are just a few of the trials that rob women of fully enjoying social and economic freedom, irrespective of laws in place. Currently women organizations, private corporations, public administrations, non-governmental organizations (NGO) and donor agencies have become more involved in the issue of women empowerment. Hence, there are a variety of workshops, conferences and seminars regularly organized that generate new ideas and plans of action for women. Her liberty Namibia was established in November 2012, through the needs stimulated by young women and girls who carry pride as a motivation to seek change within their social and economic environment. We seek to spearhead the Namibian young women and girls movement by working cooperatively on dynamic projects, issues and events that will critically shape and involve Namibian young women and girls to act as impactful social catalyst of change. Goals
Her Liberty Namibia will:

•Empower and create an understanding among young women and girls about principles on promoting and encouraging independence and self-sufficiency

•Develop necessary programs and projects that advocate gender rights and equality, especially sexual reproductive health and rights

•Provide young girls and women a platform to present and advocate for themselves on key issues affecting their social and socio-economic livelihood

•Contribute to the service delivery, policy and legal reform processes affecting young women and girls within Namibia
