Build electronic forms of communication as the central means for informing the network
Establish a central source of information, the NANASO/SAFAIDS Resource Centre (widely recognised as one of the best HIV/AIDS information resources in Namibia). Capacity Building
Assist
all members of the network to maximise the impact of their work through capacity building programmes or maximising access to available tools
Ensure capacity building is based on national agreed standards
Develop an NGO Training Institute and a Civil Society Management Qualification (CSMQ) with NANGOF and NARA. Facilitation
Provide face to face communication opportunities and tools between NANASO and network members
Provide exposure of smaller organisations that provide valuable work to the community
Expand and grow satellite offices in various regions in Namibia
Develop governance and accountability among ASO’s
Publish an updated directory of ASO’s in Namibia. Coordinating & Monitoring
Publish annual survey of the work of ASO’s in relation to NSF
Maximise the contribution of ASO’s to Namibian national plan
Identify gaps and overlays in national and local effort
Monitor and evaluate coverage of network activity with particular reference to civil society engagement in NSF
Develop tools by which ASO’s can operate most effectively within NSF
Lead civil society to the emerging National Information System (SPM)
Advocacy
Represent members nationally and internationally
Maintain a “manifesto” of issues, network speak with common voice on key issues
Bring together common groupings to increase impact for advocacy programmes
Support leaders in HIV/AIDS engagements. Funding
Studies show that funding mechanisms favours large, international NGO’s. NANASO seeks to help smaller ASO’s with raising capital and funds
Publicize existing funding mechanisms and ensure donors actively response the need for ASO’s
Create a grant management program to support members.
