RUNDU TRADE FAIR LAUNCH - NYC’S KAVANGO EAST REGIONAL YOUTH FORUM SHOWS UP STRONG

The Kavango East Regional Youth Forum, representing NYC in Kavango East, made a prominent and proud appearance at the official Rundu Trade Fair launch in Rundu, officiated by Her Excellency, the Vice President of Namibia.

Eight Regional Executive Members of the Forum attended: Ervin Likoro (Regional Chairperson), Rauna Njamba (Vice Chairperson), Bibiana Shapi (Rundu Urban Constituency), Makayi Augustinus (Rundu Rural Constituency), Adeline Hamupembe (Mashare Constituency), Thapalo Marco (Ndonga Linena Constituency), Nekendu Theophilus (Ndiyona Constituency), and Kapanga Alexander (Mukwe Constituency). The Kavango East Regional Coordinator, Kamiyo Swabi, along with Brian Prince (Head of NYC Corporate Communication and Marketing) and Muesee Kazapua (NYC Stakeholder Relations Officer), also participated at the launch.

NYC is proud to be part of this distinguished event that gathered national leaders, including Rt. Hon. Elijah Ngurare, Prime Minister, and Hon. Dino Ballotti, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture.

As NYC, we believe youth is not the future; youth is the present. Our involvement in the Rundu Trade Fair aims to connect Kavango East youth with markets, opportunities, and national decision-making.

We extend our thanks to the Office of the Vice President, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Minister (MEIYSAC), and the Rundu Trade Fair Organising Committee for the invitation.

The Vice President and Deputy Minister took a moment to share a photo opportunity with our REC — a meaningful recognition of youth leadership in Kavango East.

MISS AFRICA VISITS NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL AS FIRST PORT OF CALL

The National Youth Council of Namibia (NYC) today received a courtesy visit from Miss Africa, Ms. Vistorina Hipangelwa, who arrived directly from Nigeria following her continental victory.

Ms. Hipangelwa chose the NYC as her first port of call upon arrival in Namibia, underscoring her appreciation to NYC and commitment to youth development.

On behalf of the young people of Namibia, the National Youth Council congratulates Ms. Hipangelwa on her outstanding achievement in bringing the prestigious Miss Africa crown to Namibia, after competing against contestants from across the African continent.

Her victory is not only a personal triumph but a victory for all Namibian youth. It is a testament to the beauty, talent, intelligence and resilience of the Namibian young woman.

The NYC is proud to associate with her journey and looks forward to collaborating with her to inspire, empower and create opportunities for young women across the country.

The National Youth Council invites eligible Namibian youth between the ages of 18 - 29 years to express their interest in being considered for nomination as a National Youth Delegate to represent Namibia at the 14th Commonwealth Youth Forum (CYF) and the Commonwealth Youth Council (C*C) General Assembly to be held in Antigua and Barbuda from 1 to 4 November 2026. Two delegates (one female and one male) will ultimately be nominated.
