CALL FOR APPLICATIONS!

The Kavango Zambezi Trans Frontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) Secretariat invites applications to support the Pilot Bankable Nature Solutions (BNS) Projects under the KAZA TFCA initiative.

The objective of this call is to identify and support pilot nature-based enterprises capable of transitioning into structured, bankable businesses that:
• generate sustainable revenues,
• create employment opportunities (with attention to women and youth),
• attract follow-on investment, and
• deliver measurable conservation outcomes.

Through this initiative, a select number of BNS projects implemented within the KAZA TFCA components of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe will receive financial support and technical assistance to showcase viable business models, test scalable financing mechanisms capable of attracting private capital, and strengthen nature-based enterprises that generate commercial returns while directly advancing conservation and livelihood outcomes across the KAZA landscape.

Application deadline: 12th June, 2026.

Africa is not only our heritage, it is our responsibility.

Today, we celebrate the richness of our cultures, the beauty of our landscapes, and the incredible diversity of life that makes this continent unique.

This Africa Day, let us renew our commitment to safeguarding its wildlife, protecting its wild spaces, and building a future where nature and people flourish side by side, for generations to come.

Happy Africa Day!

Every action for biodiversity starts with us 🌍

This International Day for Biological Diversity, we are acting locally for global impact.

In Namibia, protecting wildlife means protecting the connections they rely on. Wildlife corridors link landscapes so elephants, lions, and other species can move safely, access resources, and adapt to a changing climate. 🐘

Through community partnerships, FAO, the Government, and local partners, WWF is helping protect and restore these corridors, reducing human-wildlife conflict and supporting livelihoods so people and nature thrive together.

Your daily choices matter too. Let's protect, restore, and celebrate biodiversity for future generations.

Historic win for community-led conservation in Namibia! 🇳🇦

Yesterday, the Government of Namibia, together with communal conservancies, NACSO, CCFN, WWF Namibia, and other conservation actors, alongside a global coalition of Enduring Earth partners, celebrated the launch of Namibia for Life, a landmark initiative securing over N$1 billion in long-term conservation financing.

As Africa’s first Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) initiative, Namibia for Life will provide sustained, long-term support to communal conservancies, strengthening governance, wildlife management, and the support systems that communities rely on.
The initiative will help safeguard wildlife and ecosystems across more than 20% of the country, while supporting sustainable livelihoods for over 283,000 people who depend on nature for their wellbeing.

Through strengthened extension services and a new Socio-Economic Development Fund, Namibia for Life will help communities build resilient local economies, support small businesses, create jobs, and ensure that conservation continues to deliver real benefits on the ground.

Namibia for Life builds on decades of success in community-led conservation, showing that when communities are empowered, both nature and people thrive.

A huge milestone for partnership-driven conservation in Namibia.

Just a few days ago, we witnessed the very first Annual General Meeting of the Black Rhino Association of Namibia (BRAN) marking a significant milestone in strengthening collaborative conservation efforts for the protection of Namibia’s black rhino populations.

brings together key actors in rhino conservation, including Communal and Freehold Custodians, the Minister of Environment, Forestry & Tourism Namibia, and partners such as WWF Namibia, and Save the Rhino Trust Namibia. At its core, BRAN reflects a shared commitment to stronger coordination, collective responsibility, and sustainable conservation practices to secure the long-term survival of black rhinos in Namibia.

Namibia is home to just over 2,000 black rhinos, with approximately a third conserved outside of state-protected areas through the Black Rhino Custodianship Programme, a globally recognised model built on trust, stewardship, and long-term partnership with landholders. While this model has delivered strong population growth over decades, increasing pressures such as poaching, drought, and economic constraints are placing both rhinos and custodians at risk. This milestone comes at a critical time.

The association is committed to enhancing coordination, and supporting sustainable conservation practices to ensure the long-term survival of black rhinos in Namibia. Sector leaders including Piet Beytell National rhino coordinator (MEFT), Barry De Klerk (SCD), Lucy Chimes (Wildlife ACT) , Cornelis van der Waal, Markus Hofmeyr (Researcher, Ongava RC) , Annette Oelofse (BRAN Chair), and NNF’s Morgan Hauptfleisch, each reinforcing the importance of long-term, coordinated action.

We celebrate this progress as a reflection of what is possible when partners come together around a shared purpose.
