A look back at the 2026 SAGES Mariental Interbranch, where another round of the Merit Series played out on 5 September. ⛳

A big congratulations to Jurie Engelbrecht, who took the win in Mariental, followed by Gerrit Louw in second and Esther van Taak in third.

There were a few more honours on the course:

🏌️ Longest Drive, Hole 18: Jürgen Johannesson
🎯 Nearest to the Pin, Hole 1/10: Poena Ellis
🎯 Nearest to the Pin in 2, Hole 7/16: Sakkie van Zyl
🎯 Nearest to the Pin in 3, Hole 18: Johan Grobler

A special thank you to SuperSand for sponsoring the Mariental Interbranch and supporting SAGES.

And with another Merit Series competition in the books, there’s only one question left...

What did Mariental do to the leaderboard? 👀

Stay tuned. The updated standings are coming next.

The Windhoek Branch monthly competition came with a few surprises this time around. 😂⛳

The ladies played from the blue tees, the gents from the red, but that was only the beginning.

Players had a few extra challenges waiting for them on the course. One hole had to be played using only one club, another had **no putter allowed**, there were points up for grabs, scores being multiplied and even a challenge for the most accurate drive. 😅

Definitely not your average round of golf!

A big thank you to Stephanus and Celonika for sponsoring the competition and adding such a fun twist to the day.

And thank you to everyone who joined in and took on the challenge!

Tsumeb has changed the race. 👀⛳

A new leader. Just one point separating first and second. And only three points between 12th place and the player chasing that final qualifying spot.

The Race to South Africa is getting tighter, and every point from here matters.

Only the Top 12 will qualify to represent Namibia on the SA Tour. 🇳🇦

Who are you backing? 👀

Another Merit Series weekend wrapped up in Tsumeb Golf Club, and the race to South Africa continues. ⛳🇳🇦

Congratulations to this weekend’s Top 3:
🏆 1st Place: Wayne Shaw
🥈 2nd Place: Desmond D’Emiljo
🥉 3rd Place: George Vink

A very special thank you to Rubicon Group for their incredible support of SAGES Tsumeb over the past 21 years. Two decades of sponsorship is something truly worth celebrating, and we’re incredibly grateful for the continued partnership and support.

Now the big question… what has Tsumeb done to the standings? 👀 The updated Merit Series Leaderboard goes live tomorrow night.

07/08/2026

OK, let's go! 🔥⛳

The Merit Series has officially landed in Tsumeb, and another important weekend in the race to South Africa is underway.

With only the Top 12 qualifying for the SA Tour, there are still points to play for and positions to chase.

Who will make a move this weekend? 👀

The race to South Africa is heating up. ⛳

After the latest Merit Series event in Okahandja, the leaderboard is starting to shift, with players making important moves as they compete for a place in the Top 12.

📈 Biggest mover: Sakkie van Zyl (+3 places)
📊 New Top 3: Willie van Zyl, Desmond van Heerden and Jan van Wyk
🎯 Only the Top 12 qualify for the SA Tour

With several events still to come, every point matters.

The Merit Series would not be possible without the support of our sponsors and partners.

If your business would like to be part of a purpose-driven golfing community that combines competition, camaraderie, and meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
