Ms. Lisa Nyaude, Rob Youth Foundation International Executive Director on Friday 10 April 2026 participated in the Youth Dialogue initiative a transformative effort aimed at tackling the pervasive issue of violence in SouthAfrica, at the University of Johannesburg with a keen focus on its impact on young people. Recognizing the dual role of youth as both victims and potent catalysts for change, this initiative provided a safe and structured platform for young individuals to discuss the diverse forms of violence affecting them. Through solution-oriented discussions, participants were encouraged to explore the root causes, personal experiences, and consequences of violence in their communities. The dialogue emphasized active listening, mutual understanding, and collective problem-solving, moving beyond mere awareness to practical, youth-led responses and prevention strategies. By fostering youth leadership and civic engagement, the initiative positions young people as key peacebuilding stakeholders. It equips them with dialogue skills, conflict-resolution tools, and a robust understanding of non-violent approaches, enabling them to emerge as Peace Ambassadors. These young leaders are empowered to advocate for change, lead peer-driven initiatives, and contribute to the creation of safer, more inclusive communities. Supported by Gun Free South Africa, the South African Youth Council, and the International Peace Youth Group, the dialogue were enriched by a blend of youth perspectives, community experiences, research insights, and national advocacy, ensuring it was both informed and impactful.
