Building resilience through learning. 🌾

WFP Namibia is supporting the Government of the Republic of to review the 2024/25 National Drought Relief Programme, bringing together national and regional partners to draw lessons and strengthen future drought responses.

The El NiΓ±o‑driven drought affected all regions, leaving 1.4 million people food insecure, highlighting the urgency of coordinated, climate‑smart action.

Strengthening resilience remains at the heart of WFP’s support.

In Kavango West, the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme is helping improve school attendance, nutrition, and community participation.

Courtesy Engagement | Strengthening Collaboration

The Executive Director of the Ministry of Health and Social Services-Namibia, Mr. Penda Ithindi, last week held a courtesy engagement with Mr. Simon Denhere, WFP Namibia Country Director (a.i.).

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss areas of continued collaboration, with a particular focus on initiatives that support nutrition and health outcomes, including garden-related interventions at health facilities for vulnerable populations such as people living with HIV/AIDS and TB.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing partnership in support of sustainable, nutrition-sensitive health interventions. 🌱🀝
