The Spoken Walls Project is an ongoing public mural initiative by ENK Public Art Group, bringing together visual artists and Namibian poets to create a connected visual poem across residential spaces.

Each mural forms part of a larger narrative — reflecting the spirit of our city. In time, this initiative will expand to other towns, collaborating with local artists and poets to tell their stories in their own languages.

Our goal is simple: to ensure positive, powerful messages live in the everyday spaces of our communities.

This is one of many creative public storytelling initiatives ENK Public Art Group is capable of delivering.

If you would like to support or collaborate on future projects, we welcome the conversation.

ENK Public Art Group Executive Director Emmanuel Enkara () extends sincere appreciation to the National Arts Council of Namibia for the funding that made the Spoken Walls Project and its accompanying mural workshop possible.

The workshop successfully trained 13 emerging muralists, equipping them with the skills and discipline required to create work at an international standard.

Our vision extends beyond murals. We are committed to developing large-scale public art initiatives across Namibia — including art installations, sculptures, and urban design interventions that transform public spaces.

We continue to seek sustainable funding partners who believe in the power of art to positively shape our cities and communities.

A sincere thank you to Mr Taanyanda Matheus () for his bold composition and masterful use of colour in his contribution to the Spoken Walls Project.

Taanyanda is one of Namibia’s most experienced muralists, and it is always a privilege to collaborate with him.

The Spoken Walls Project is an ongoing ENK Public Art Group initiative bringing typography murals into residential areas — sharing positive messages with residents as they move through their daily lives.

Each mural represents a single line in a larger poem that captures the spirit of the city.

When all the walls are complete… will you be able to piece the poem together?

Thank you to the National Arts Council of Namibia for making this project and the mural workshop possible.

The Spoken Walls Project has begun to inspire in Namibia. 🌍✨
Created by ENK Public Art Group and funded by the National Arts Council of Namibia, each typography mural carries a positive message to uplift communities. Together, these murals form a unique poem for every town.

Windhoek’s first addition, painted by Victoria Kuku, stands proudly at the Soccer House Stadium as the second sonnet in our city’s poem. A message of motivation for players, coaches, and everyone who passes by.

Stay tuned for Mural No.2. 🎨🇳🇦

We had an incredible non-practical session at our Mural Theory Workshop on Saturday, November 22, 2025! The day was dedicated to mastering the strategic foundation of mural art from concept to community engagement before the paint even comes out.
We were honored to host 13 wonderful participants! Their enthusiasm and sharp questions made for a truly inspiring and productive day.

ENK Public Art Group continues to empower artists and creatives by providing opportunities to produce artwork in public spaces. These initiatives enable artists to earn higher-value commissions, it empowers youth groups, and contributes meaningfully to the cultural landscape of our communities. Public art also plays a vital role in enhancing the mental well-being of citizens, as creative expression has the power to uplift and positively rehabilitate the mind.

A huge thank you to the National Arts Council of Namibia for their generous support in making this important professional development opportunity possible.
