SAN today, 1 September 2026, met with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security following SAN’s urgent request for engagement on the sustainability of the private security sector and the long-awaited promulgation of the Security Act and Regulations.

The engagement provided SAN with an opportunity to raise critical concerns affecting the private security industry and to advocate for a clear, effective and sustainable regulatory framework that promotes compliance, professionalism, accountability and industry stability.

SAN remains committed to constructive dialogue and collaboration with Government and all relevant stakeholders to address the challenges facing the sector and to work towards practical solutions that will strengthen Namibia’s private security industry.

The 6th Ordinary Session of the AU Specialised Technical Committee on Social Development, Labour and Employment ( ) will take place from 27–31 July 2026 in Windhoek, Namibia.
