MPower Community Trust MPower is a non governmental organization focusing on health and human rights issues of men having s*x with men (MSM) in Namibia Sensitization to authorities

MPower Community Trust came to life in the midst of 2014 at the coastal town of Walvis Bay. Our main areas of concern is the general health and human rights issues men having s*x with men (MSM), Gay, Bis*xual, Transgender and the male commercial s*x worker. Stigma and homophobia is another big concern in this community. MPower’s key components of a comprehensive package of services are as follows:



HEALTH
• Empowering peer-led outreach (including targeted behavior and social norm change approaches)
• Community-based services in safe spaces (including drop-in centers)
• Provision of condoms and lubricant
• STI testing and treatment
• HIV testing and counseling
• Clinical care and antiretroviral treatment (Case management)
• Community-based care and support for resilience (Support groups)
• Circumcision Training in health sector

HUMAN RIGHTS
• Interventions to address gender-based violence Stigma and Homophobia Privacy of bedroom So**my Law Legal Assistance Marriage and Civil Agreements Training in Human Rights


Key populations (also referred to as most-at-risk populations) are people who inject drugs, gay men and other men who have s*x with men (MSM), transgender persons and s*x workers. They are disproportionately infected with HIV compared to the general population. Achievements
