Meet Harry Rencs
He has been part of Round Table for 8 years!

In his own words:

Being part of Round Table Swakopmund 145 has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. As a second-generation Tabler, Round Table has always held a special place in my heart, and it has given me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally while building lifelong friendships and serving our community.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving the table in various capacities, with the majority of my time spent in the Secretary portfolio. This role allowed me to contribute to the structure and continuity of the organisation, while gaining a deep appreciation for the work that happens behind the scenes to keep a table functioning effectively. I was also honoured to serve as Chairman on two occasions, a responsibility that challenged me, developed my leadership abilities, and created some of my proudest memories within the organisation.

What has always stood out to me is the unique brotherhood that Round Table offers. The values, traditions, and commitment to service are something I have come to cherish, especially knowing that they have been part of my family’s journey across generations. Being able to follow in the footsteps of those before me while helping shape the future of the organisation has been both humbling and rewarding.

As I enter my final two years as a Tabler before moving on to become a 41er, I look forward to making the most of the time that remains. I hope to continue contributing to the growth of the table, mentoring newer members, strengthening our fellowship, and leaving behind a positive legacy. While the prospect of ageing out is bittersweet, I am excited to see this next chapter unfold and remain part of the Round Table family through the 41ers.

Round Table has given me far more than I could ever repay, and I am grateful for every project, meeting, challenge, friendship, and lesson along the way. The journey is not over yet, and I look forward to embracing these final years as a Tabler with the same passion and commitment that have made this organisation such an important part of my life.

Why did you join Round Table?

I joined Round Table after Daniel “Rooibard” Pretorius constantly told me about the greatness of Round Table, the brotherhood, the experiences, and the difference we can make in our communities. Eventually, his stories and enthusiasm convinced me to give it a try.

What started as curiosity quickly became something much more meaningful. I found great friendships, unforgettable experiences, community work, plenty of laughs, and a brotherhood I’m proud to be part of.

I continue tabling because of the people, the friendships, the memories, and the opportunity to give back. Round Table has become more than just a club to me—it’s a brotherhood, and thanks to Rooibard for not giving up on telling me how great it is!

Over the years, Round Table has given me the opportunity to grow personally and as a leader, while creating friendships and memories that I truly value.

Being involved in various community projects has shown me the impact we can make when we work together. Today, as Chairman of Round Table Swakopmund 145, I am proud to continue serving the community, supporting our members, and helping to build on the legacy of the Table for the future.

Walvis Bay Kids Haven

On 29 August 2026 a few gents of ROUND TABLE SWAKOPMUND 145 gathered at Super Spar Swakopmund to get the NS 5 dollar “hand outs” on the go.
Rauch Elohim arrived with a van full of smiling joyful kids ready to assist us with the project.
It was a little tough to get going at the start however we soon got into rhythm and comfortable with the
task at hand. In the about hour and a half we spent handing out NS 5 dollars to some complete
strangers, others good friends and managed to soon fill up 4 shopping carts with goodies.
Some people had fun going shopping for kids that they don’t know, others found it easier to rather give a cash donation.
All the funds raised was used to buy non perishable food items that was given to Rauch Elohim. This will hopefully support the children for some time to come.

A big thanks to the Swakopmund community for their continuous support and a big thanks to SUPER SPAR for their amazing help.

Round Table Swakopmund 145 supplied Hanganeni Primary school with blankets to help fight the cold weather at the coast. Small contributions with big impact. Big thanks to our community who helped raising funds on our yearly winter Knights project. This is the result of our joint efforts.
