Swakopmund Round Table 145 hands Over Winter Knights Donations to Municipality
As part of the our annual Winter Knights campaign, the Swakopmund Round Table has extended a helping hand to the community by donating essential goods to the Swakopmund Municipality for distribution to residents in need.

This year's handover included:
• 50 blankets to provide warmth during the cold winter months

• 7 food parcels to support families facing food insecurity

• Bags of clothing to assist vulnerable households

The Winter Knights campaign is a long-standing tradition of Round Table, aimed at bringing comfort and relief to those most affected by harsh winter conditions. The Swakopmund Municipality expressed deep appreciation for the donation, noting that these items will make a tangible difference in the lives of many residents.
The funds to buys these items came directly from the Swakopmund community, we as Swakopmund Round Table would like to again say thank you to each person that contributes to towards this project.

Yesterday the community came together for a great cause. To raise funds for those in need. With these funds we buy blankets for the people in our community who does not have the same luxuries like most of us in winter times, warmth.
Thanks to everyone who supported the initiative especially the ones who stood on the cold corners yesterday morning helping us with this amazing project

Get your blankets, old clothing and petty cash ready as tomorrow morning we will be standing at the intersections in Swakopmund with our “blikkies” to collect money for our yearly blanket drive initiative. We use the money collected to buy blankets for the less fortunate people in our community. Your contribution makes a big difference in our community and their lives.

We donated 60 blankets to the Little Bugs Family at Sesriem. With the winter closing in we hope the blanket brings warmth and comfort, just as your smiles brought it to our hearts.

This past weekend we had the Induction Dinner for our new chairman of 2026. Bertus Venter as our outgoing chairman handed over the reins to the one and only Daniel Pretorius Aka Rooi Baard. He will be leading our Table to new heights this year. We have amazing projects lined up for the rest of the year and as always striving to help our community as much as we can.
We also handed out a couple of trophies like the member who attended the most meetings and events for 2025. Here Daniel had a 100% attendance. The member of the year award went to Willie Venter as well as project of the year. Congratulations on the hard work gentlemen.
