💡🚀 Big ideas start with curious minds!

What happens when young people are challenged to solve real-life problems? They come up with incredible innovations! 🌍✨

Thanks to an inspiring workshop by National Commission on Research, Science and Technology - NCRST, our learners identified everyday challenges and designed creative solutions—from a water purification machine 💧 to many other innovative inventions.

🏆 To top it all off, our learners were rewarded with some fantastic prizes and awards for their outstanding efforts! 🎁🎉 Congratulations to everyone who participated!

A huge thank you to NCRST for inspiring the next generation of innovators! 🌟

On Tuesday, we welcomed the NamBTS (Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia) to ODEC for a full day of blood donation.

We are so proud that many of our staff members and adult learners rolled up their sleeves to support this life-saving initiative—some even donating for the very first time! 🙌

🐴✨ Little Riders, Big Adventures! 🌿🤎

When our learners and colleagues came back full of excitement shouting: "We rode through a forest!" 🌳🐎

Everyone looked at each other and asked:
"A forest? Where?" 😂 Swakopmund is in the middle of the desert.

The answer? The beautiful riverbed of the Swakop River.

A huge thank you to Reitstall Lindenhof for giving our preschool learners the opportunity to experience horse riding at Okakambe Equine Organisation Namibia. ❤️

Horse riding is about so much more than just riding. Our little learners develop:
🐴 Respect for animals
🤝 Responsibility and patience
💪 Better balance, coordination and body posture
🌟 Confidence and independence

What a surprise came out of our Clothing & Fashion Design Class! 😍👏

After only 3 months⏳, our learners proudly presented the outfits they designed and made themselves. 🎉🪡 We honestly couldn't believe what they achieved in such a short time! 💙🙌

😴💤 Staying awake all night... not so easy when you're under six! 😄

Our little champions gave it their best! We kept them busy with games, movies, arts & crafts, delicious food, ghost hunting and so much more to burn off every last bit of energy. 🎣🎨🍿🌭👻

But as the night went on, one by one the little eyes became heavier... until eventually the children were fast asleep. ❤️

🏆 The teachers won this year's Stay Awake Challenge! 😂

Thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers for giving up a night's sleep!

🚀 THEY'RE BACK! 🚀

After four weeks of holidays, the silence is finally over... and honestly, we couldn't be happier! 😄

This week, ODEC came back to life with 55 Kindergarten and Preschool learners and more than 130 learners from Grade 1 to 12 joining our Afternoon Classes.

The classrooms are full again, the playground is buzzing, and there's laughter around every corner. ❤️

We definitely missed our learners. And judging by the excitement, hugs, and endless stories they brought back with them, they missed us too!

Here's to a new term full of learning, friendships, adventures, and lots of fun. Let's go! 🎉📚✨
