Build intellectual property in Namibia and the rest of Africa. Komo Academy is an online educational project founded in 2017 by an educator Lukas Tonateni Komomeya and computer programmer Geraldo Kandonga Fillipus, with the aim to create a free learning platform where learners in Africa can access free quality education. The Academy produces short lessons in form of videos. From the education and
technology perspective there was a great need to intervene and take quality education to the masses through a decentralized technology approach, hence the initiative. We develop and avail videos, audios, and e-books of best teaching practices by the best performing teachers in Namibia, in alignment with the Namibian curriculum. With plans to expand into the rest of Africa. The initiative is of a social responsibility nature. The content produced will be viewed by scholars at no cost. Financing is only needed for content production and system maintenance. Corporate companies, local and international agencies, Samaritans, all society building entities and individuals can make their contribution toward the project as part of the Social Responsibility commitment. We develop content based on the active curriculum of the line Ministry and tertiary institutions. We are currently developing contents based on the basic competencies as stipulated in the syllabus of Ministry of Basic Education, Art and Culture and in-line with all institutions registered within the Ministry of Higher Education as per standards of the Namibian Qualification Authority. We assure our learners through our core values the best content and services as we together take our education sector through a paradigm shift for the best interest of our society.
