When you are not satisfied with the outcome of a disciplinary hearing, remember that internal remedies (disciplinary outcome appeal) must first be exhausted before the matter is referred to the Labour Commissioner for conciliation.

The Otavi Town Council has warned the public against consuming, selling or distributing vodka cans recovered from the scene of a truck accident.

The council says the product was not intended for the Namibian market and contains a high concentration of alcohol. It may also have been exposed to excessive heat, fire, smoke and other contaminants, making its safety for human consumption uncertain.

The warning comes amid reports that several people, including children, were hospitalised after an overturned truck carrying alcohol sparked a scramble for the drinks.

Some patients were reportedly transferred to Otjiwarongo by ambulance due to the severity of their conditions.

Police have yet to issue an official report on the incident.
