14 August 2026|Ohangwena Opens Doors to Strategic Creative Industry partnership and investment
The TV Yard Madia a company in the creative industry from Nigeria arrived in Namibia on 11 August 2026 for a four-day visit to the Office of the Governor of Ohangwena Region, as part of efforts to explore strategic investment opportunities and strengthen collaboration in the creative industry between Ohangwena Region and Nigeria.
The delegation is led by Dr. Okorie Ogonnaya Becky, Chief Executive Officer of Goverfix Nigeria Investment (Pty) Limited, accompanied by Dr. Chukwuemeka Chibuikem Okoroafor, the Managing Director of TC Yard Media and Senior Special Advisor to the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria who is popularly known Nollywood actor as Chucks Chyke, and Mr. Orifa Charles Itafe, Project Coordinator.
The visit forms part of the Region’s strategic efforts to position Ohangwena as a gateway for creative industry investment, creating opportunities for skills development, film production, entertainment, cultural exchange, job creation and economic growth.

The Office of the Governor encourages all young people with a passion and interest in the creative industry particularly in film making to register for the pilot program that will soon be announced between the Governors Office, TV Yard Media and the Ohangwena Regional Youth Forum.

12 August 2026 | Ohangwena Advances Investment Action Plan Through Strategic Engagement

Goverfix Nigeria Investment (Pty) Limited arrived in Namibia on 11 August 2026 for a four-day visit to the Office of the Governor of Ohangwena Region, with the facilitation of the Namibian High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria - Amb. Walde Ndevashiya as part of the implementation of the Region’s Investment Action Plan and efforts to explore strategic investment opportunities in Ohangwena.

The delegation is led by Dr. Okorie Ogonnaya Becky, Chief Executive Officer of Goverfix Nigeria Investment (Pty) Limited, accompanied by Dr. Chukwuemeka Chibuikem Okoroafor, Managing Director and popularly known Nollywood actor Chucks Chyke, and Mr. Orifa Charles Itafe, Project Coordinator.

The visit forms part of the Region’s ongoing efforts to translate identified investment opportunities into tangible projects, strengthen partnerships with potential investors, and advance the economic development priorities of Ohangwena Region.

The visit provides an opportunity to showcase Ohangwena’s infrastructure, development potential and investment opportunities, while identifying areas for potential investment and collaboration.

The engagement demonstrates the commitment of the Office of the Governor to implement the Investment Action Plan, facilitate strategic investment partnerships and turn Ohangwena’s identified investment opportunities into tangible economic development projects, in line with the aspirations of the 8th Administration.

ONAMAFILA CLINIC OFFICIALLY INAUGURATED

Governor Hon. Kadiva Hamutumwa joined the Minister of Health and Social Services, Hon. Dr. Esperance Luvindao, together with regional leadership, traditional leaders and members of the community, to officially inaugurate the Onamafila Clinic on 06 August 2026.
Constructed at a cost of N$21 million, the clinic, which commenced construction in 2018, will serve 24 surrounding villages, bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people.
The inauguration ribbon was officially cut by Minister Dr. Luvindao, marking the completion of a long-awaited development. The Onamafila community received the facility with great excitement and appreciation, as they will no longer have to travel long distances to access healthcare, with some previously relying on cows and donkeys as modes of transport.
Governor Hamutumwa also reiterated the Region’s need for a referral hospital and committed to advocating for the further expansion of the clinic into a Health Centre.
This is development that touches lives, restores dignity and brings government services closer to the people.
