Please help now: Mozambique after the flood disaster
Dear All,
you may have already seen it in the news:
Mozambique is currently experiencing its worst flood disaster in decades. The extremely heavy and persistent rainfall has caused historical averages to be exceeded in many places, rivers to burst their banks massively, and dams to be overwhelmed. The southern half of the country, especially the provinces of Gaza, Maputo, and parts of Sofala and Inhambane, is the hardest hit.
It is estimated that between 500,000 and more than 700,000 people have been affected by the floods – often entire villages, fields, and roads are underwater. (Die Zeit, January 20, 2026)
You know yourself what this means for the people on the ground.
Houses have been washed away, roads are destroyed. Many parents can no longer go to work because there is simply no way to get there. The seeds on which the next harvest depended are lost. If we don't act now, we face starvation next winter.
What's particularly distressing is that many of our students and their families in and around Vilankulo are also affected.
Kululeku has been active in Mozambique for many years. Our school is not just a place of learning for the children, but a source of security and hope. That's precisely why we want to – and can – help now. Directly. Easily. On the ground.
With your donation, you will be helping concretely:
• Providing families with food and clean drinking water
• Providing new seeds for the next planting season
• Preventing disease through improved hygiene
• Helping our students and their families through this crisis
Every donation counts. Truly.
And every donation shows people: You are not alone.
