What a week. ❤️🇲🇿
We recently had the absolute joy of hosting a very special group of Nandocas from in Mozambique, and what a fun, meaningful, heart-filling few days it was.
From stepping inside the insectary, to visiting the chilli farm (Maxamba) where the Goodbye Malaria story first began, born out of the need to protect the farmers growing Nando’s chilli, to spending time in the communities where our teams work every day, this trip was full of connection, learning and unforgettable moments.
One of the most special parts was visiting the home of one of our spray operators, where the group met her and her children and saw the human side of this work up close. The kind of moment that stays with you.
We also saw the realities communities continue to face. We witnessed the devastation caused by the floods earlier this year, and even experienced more flooding ourselves while in Maputo. It was a powerful reminder of why resilient health systems, strong communities and sustained support matter so much.
But alongside all of that, there was also so much joy.
So much laughter.
So much curiosity.
So much heart.
Our UK visitors got to experience the magic of Mozambique; its beauty, its energy, its colour, and the incredible warmth of its people. And yes, there was plenty of fun along the way too.
This group is especially close to our hearts because they continue to go above and beyond for Goodbye Malaria. Through Nando’s Fighting Malaria in the UK, staff have raised funds through campaigns, events and creative fundraising initiatives, all helping support the Global Fund-backed MOSASWA Regional Grant.
To our UK Nandocas: thank you for showing up with such open hearts, for backing this work, for bringing the energy, and for reminding us that purpose and fun can absolutely travel together.
Mozambique, you were magic ♥️
