“Hoje sinto que a poupança ajudou-me a mudar a minha vida.

At 23, Cecília Alberto turned her group savings into a small business, with the profits enabling her to buy essential household items and a baking oven. This was one of the outcomes observed during a monitoring and technical support visit to the communities of Lussanhando, Matemangue and Naossa, in Lichinga District.
"I started saving and, with the money I managed to put together, I started my business. With the profits, I bought some things I needed at home and also invested in my business," says Cecília.
"Today, I feel that saving has helped me change my life. I can run my business, make a profit and buy what I need. I also want to continue saving to grow my business," she adds.
The Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) Project is implemented in Cabo Delgado, Niassa and Nampula provinces until the end of 2026, in partnership with ASSANA, the NUNISA Foundation, the Christian Council of Mozambique (CCM – Cabo Delgado and Niassa), the Kuendeleya Association and Movimento Activista Moçambique (MAM).
