FIT Africa La voix de la FIT en Afrique
The voice of FIT in Africa
La voz de la FIT en África We officially launched in Stellenbosch, South Africa on 26 September 2023.

FIT Africa is the Regional Center of the International Federation of Translators to serve the African continent. We bring together, under one umbrella, associations of translators, terminologists and interpreters. Our main purpose is to be a voice for professional translators' associations in Africa. We actively strive to create conducive conditions for creating more translators' associations wher

e none exist. FIT Africa currently has six regular members:
- APTIC (Association des professionnels de la traduction et de l’interprétation du Cameroun)
- ATIPCO (Association de Traducteurs et Interprètes Professionnels du Congo)
- EAITA (East African Interpreters and Translators Association)
- ASTRA (Association sénégalaise des traducteurs)
- SATI (South African Translators’ Institute)
- ATIM (Associação de Tradutores e Intérpretes de Moçambique / Mozambican Translators and Interpreters Association)

A new year is beginning, and with it, a new cycle of learning, dialogue and transformation. FIT is proud to kick off 2026 by sharing and supporting some of the most important events organised across all our Regional Centres.

Turning the Page: Defining Your Future in 2026

Organised by the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC), the webinar will take place online on 22 January 2026, 4 PM Pacific Standard Time (1:00 AM CET)

You can register here for free: https://stibc.org/webinars-and-workshops/ =436&cid=1715&wid=801&type=Cal

This presentation explores the crossroads where every professional currently stands. It draws a powerful line between the professions that faded into history and those that reinvented themselves, becoming more valuable than ever. It is an invitation to stop viewing 2026 as a challenge to survive and start seeing it as an opportunity to become truly essential. The question is no longer about what the market will do to us, but who we choose to become within it.

A recording will be provided after the session for those who are unable to attend.
