ASCHA, Associação Sócio Cultural Horizonte Azul é uma pessoa colectiva, jurídica e juvenil que congrega maioritariamente mulheres jovens e raparigas que trabalham em prol da promoção e protecção dos direitos humanos, empoderamento, igualdade de género em particular das crianças, adolescentes e jovens órfãos e vulneráveis. Defende uma identidade feminista de igualdade onde meninas e meninos têm as

mesmas oportunidades de aceder recursos afectivos, materiais e financeiros que garantem a sua autonomia e melhorem as condições de sujeitas e sujeitos de direitos nas comunidades. ASCHA, Horizonte Azul socio cultural association is a collective, juridical and juvenile society that gathers mostly young women and girls working for the promotion and protection of human rights, empowerment, gender equality in particular of orphans and vulnerable children, adolescents and young people . ASCHA RECEBE DELEGAÇÃO AFRICANA DA FES

"Foi muito gratificante testemunhar as diferentes expressões de artivismo apresentadas durante esta visita. Através da dança, da Batucada Feminista, da poesia e das pinturas, foi possível sentir a força, a coragem e a resiliência presentes nas suas vozes e acções. No meu país ainda não temos este tipo de espaço, e essa é uma experiência muito importante que irei levar comigo", partilhou uma das participantes da delegação da Fundação Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), durante a visita realizada hoje, 29 de Maio, à ASCHA.

A visita reuniu coordenadoras e coordenadores de Género da FES-África com o objectivo de conhecer o trabalho desenvolvido pela ASCHA e pelos movimentos MMJR e MMST, num momento marcado pela arte, pelo diálogo e pela troca de experiências. Como forma de apresentar as suas acções e causas, a ASCHA transformou o encontro num espaço de artivismo, onde diferentes manifestações artísticas deram voz às lutas, resistências e vivências das mulheres e raparigas jovens.

O Xigubo Delas, a Batucada Feminista, a Poesia Feminista e outras expressões culturais demonstraram como a arte tem sido utilizada como ferramenta de mobilização social, denúncia, consciencialização e fortalecimento comunitário. Para além das apresentações artísticas, o encontro contou com um diálogo aberto sobre os desafios enfrentados pelas mulheres jovens e as estratégias colectivas de resistência, organização comunitária e promoção da igualdade de género.

ASCHA Hosts African Delegation from FES

"It was very gratifying to witness the different expressions of artivism presented during this visit. Through dance, feminist drumming, poetry, and paintings, it was possible to feel the strength, courage, and resilience present in their voices and actions. In my country, we don't yet have this type of space, and this is a very important experience that I will take with me," shared one of the participants from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) delegation during the visit to ASCHA today, May 29th.

The visit brought together Gender Coordinators from FES-Africa with the aim of learning about the work developed by ASCHA and the MMJR and MMST movements, in a moment marked by art, dialogue, and the exchange of experiences. As a way to present its actions and causes, ASCHA transformed the meeting into a space for artivism, where different artistic expressions gave voice to the struggles, resistance, and experiences of women and young girls.

Xigubo Delas, Batucada Feminista, Feminist Poetry, and other cultural expressions demonstrated how art has been used as a tool for social mobilization, denunciation, awareness-raising, and community strengthening. In addition to the artistic presentations, the meeting included an open dialogue about the challenges faced by young women and collective strategies for resistance, community organization, and the promotion of gender equality.

A gestão e higiene menstrual é uma questão de saúde, dignidade e direitos humanos.
Garantir que raparigas e mulheres tenham acesso à informação, produtos de higiene e espaços seguros é fundamental para promover igualdade, autoestima e bem-estar.

Menstrual hygiene and management is a matter of health, dignity, and human rights.

Ensuring that girls and women have access to information, hygiene products, and safe spaces is fundamental to promoting equality, self-esteem, and well-being.

Even today, many girls face challenges related to stigma, lack of adequate conditions, and absence of menstrual education, factors that affect their health, school participation, and development.

On this day, we reinforce the importance of:

GESTÃO FINANCEIRA COMO CAMINHO PARA A AUTONOMIA DAS MULHERES
No âmbito do Projecto M64-DDHH, a ASCHA, com o apoio da Fundação Madre Coraje e da AACID, realiza, nos dias 26 e 27 de Maio, uma Capacitação em Gestão Financeira e Técnicas de Vendas dirigida a 15 mulheres, com idades compreendidas entre os 23 e 48 anos, pertencentes às associações agrícolas da localidade de Ngalude bairro de Cumbene, no Distrito de Marracuene.

A iniciativa visa fortalecer as capacidades das participantes em matérias de organização financeira, cálculo de custos de produção, definição de preços e estratégias de comercialização, promovendo maior valorização dos produtos agrícolas produzidos localmente.

Durante a actividade, as participantes partilharam os principais desafios enfrentados na comercialização dos seus produtos, destacando a desvalorização do trabalho agrícola e as dificuldades em obter lucros justos face aos custos de produção.

A capacitação representa também um espaço de aprendizagem colectiva, troca de experiências e fortalecimento do papel das mulheres nos processos económicos das suas comunidades, incentivando práticas mais sustentáveis e justas para o desenvolvimento local.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AS A PATH TO WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT
Within the scope of the M64-DDHH Project, ASCHA, with the support of the Madre Coraje Foundation and AACID, is conducting a training course in Financial Management and Sales Techniques on May 26th and 27th for 15 women, aged between 23 and 48, belonging to agricultural associations in the Ngalude locality, Cumbene neighborhood, in the Marracuene District.

The initiative aims to strengthen the participants' capacities in matters of financial organization, calculation of production costs, pricing, and marketing strategies, promoting greater appreciation of locally produced agricultural products.

During the activity, the participants shared the main challenges faced in marketing their products, highlighting the devaluation of agricultural work and the difficulties in obtaining fair profits in the face of production costs.

Training also represents a space for collective learning, exchange of experiences, and strengthening the role of women in the economic processes of their communities, encouraging more sustainable and just practices for local development.

“As mulheres africanas não são apenas parte da história, são protagonistas da mudança.” Ao longo dos anos, as mulheres africanas têm desempenhado um papel fundamental na construção de comunidades mais fortes, resilientes e justas. Mesmo diante de desafios como a desigualdade, a discriminação e a violência, continuam a erguer as suas vozes, liderar transformações e inspirar novas gerações.

Hoje, 25 de Maio Dia de África, celebramos a coragem, a força e a determinação das mulheres africanas que lutam diariamente por igualdade de direitos, oportunidades e dignidade. Reconhecer o seu papel é também reafirmar o compromisso com uma África mais inclusiva, onde mulheres e homens possam caminhar juntos rumo a um futuro de justiça e desenvolvimento para todos.

PORTA A PORTA: EDUCADORAS/ES LÍDERES LEVAM MENSAGEM SOBRE ABUSO, EXPLORAÇÃO SEXUAL E OS SEUS MECANISMOS DE DENÚNCIA

O bairro Diamante Marisco, no distrito de Angoche, foi palco de campanhas porta-a-porta e interpessoais promovidas pelos educadores de pares líderes, no âmbito do projecto Adolescentes e Jovens Contra a Violência Baseada no Género e Uniões Prematuras, implementado pela ASCHA, com apoio técnico do UNICEF Mozambique e financeiro do Spanish NatCom.

Sob o tema de combate às uniões prematuras e PSEA, a actividade sensibilizou a comunidade sobre a importância da denúncia de práticas nocivas e da divulgação das linhas de denúncia, reforçando a protecção de raparigas e mulheres. A campanha alcançou 59 participantes, dos quais 36 eram raparigas e mulheres adultas e 23 rapazes e homens adultos, com idades entre 10 e 63 anos.

Entre as vozes marcantes da actividade, Laura Dauda, de 52 anos, destacou a mudança de mentalidade dos jovens: “Os meus netos agora dizem que só vão casar quando estiverem preparados. Esta informação ajuda-nos a orientar melhor as crianças e jovens para o futuro.”

DOOR-TO-DOOR: EDUCATORS/PEER LEADERS DELIVER MESSAGE ON ABUSE, SEXUAL EXPLOITATION AND REPORTING MECHANISMS

The Diamante Marisco neighborhood, in the Angoche district, was the setting for door-to-door and interpersonal campaigns promoted by peer educators as part of the project "Adolescents and Young People Against Gender-Based Violence and Early Unions," implemented by ASCHA, with technical support from UNICEF and financial support from Spanish NatCom.

Under the theme of combating early unions and PSEA (Premature Sexual Exploitation), the activity raised community awareness about the importance of reporting harmful practices and disseminating reporting channels, reinforcing the protection of girls and women. The campaign reached 59 participants, of whom 36 were girls and adult women and 23 were boys and adult men, aged between 10 and 63 years.

Among the prominent voices at the event, Laura Dauda, 52, highlighted the change in mindset among young people: “My grandchildren now say they will only get married when they are ready. This information helps us to better guide children and young people towards the future.”

UNICEF ACOMPANHA ACÇÕES CONTRA VBG E UNIÕES PREMATURAS NO DISTRITO DE MONAPO

O distrito de Monapo voltou a acolher a visita de monitoria do UNICEF Mozambique às actividades implementadas pela ASCHA e ICDP, no âmbito do projecto Adolescentes e Jovens Contra a Violência Baseada no Género e Uniões Prematuras, com financiamento do Spanish NatCom, Rapariga Biz e Programa Global.

A visita iniciou com um encontro de cortesia no gabinete do médico-chefe, em representação do Governo local, seguido de uma reunião no CAI (Centro de Apoio Integral), que reuniu diversos sectores, entre eles Saúde, Educação, Acção Social, Rádio Comunitária, Registo Civil, Visão Mundial, N’Weti, Kutenga, ASSEMESO, Gabinete de Atendimento à Família e Menor Vítima de Violência, ICDP, ASCHA e UNICEF. O momento serviu para compreender o funcionamento do mecanismo multissetorial e reforçar o acompanhamento dos casos de VBG e uniões prematuras nas comunidades.

A monitoria prosseguiu em Monapo Rio, com actividades do ICDP, e terminou na comunidade de Micolene, onde o UNICEF acompanhou actividades da ASCHA no “Espaço da Malta”, envolvendo rapazes dos 10 aos 14 anos, e do “Fala Minha Irmã”, com raparigas da mesma faixa etária, sob o tema Amina (PSEA para Crianças). A visita encerrou com actividades de empoderamento económico, onde mulheres jovens órfãs, mães solteiras, vulneráveis e sobreviventes das uniões prematuras, dos 19 aos 24 anos, realizavam a fritura de bolinhos para comercialização, após beneficiarem de kits de geração de renda para fortalecer a sua autonomia financeira.

UNICEF Monitors Actions Against Gender-Based Violence and Early Marriages in the Monapo District

The Monapo district once again hosted a UNICEF monitoring visit to the activities implemented by ASCHA and ICDP, within the framework of the project "Adolescents and Young People Against Gender-Based Violence and Early Marriages," funded by Spanish NatCom, Rapariga Biz, and the Global Programme.

The visit began with a courtesy meeting in the office of the chief physician, representing the local government, followed by a meeting at the CAI (Comprehensive Support Center), which brought together various sectors, including Health, Education, Social Action, Community Radio, Civil Registry, World Vision, N’Weti, Kutenga, ASSEMESO, the Office for Assistance to Families and Minor Victims of Violence, ICDP, ASCHA, and UNICEF. The meeting served to understand the functioning of the multi-sectoral mechanism and to strengthen the monitoring of cases of gender-based violence and early marriages in the communities.

The monitoring continued in Monapo Rio, with activities from the ICDP, and ended in the Micolene community, where UNICEF accompanied ASCHA activities at the “Espaço da Malta,” involving boys aged 10 to 14, and “Fala Minha Irmã,” with girls of the same age group, under the theme Amina (PSEA for Children). The visit concluded with economic empowerment activities, where young orphaned women, single mothers, vulnerable individuals, and survivors of early unions, aged 19 to 24, fried fritters for sale, after benefiting from income-generating kits to strengthen their financial autonomy.

ASCHA E MOVIMENTO LEVANTE DESTACADOS PELA LUTA CONTRA A VIOLÊNCIA BASEADA NO GÉNERO

A ASCHA recebeu ontem, 20 de Maio, a visita da Administradora do Distrito Municipal KaMaxaqueni, acompanhada por representantes do INSS, Conselho Municipal, 12ª Esquadra, EDM, Secretariado do Bairro e outras individualidades, com o objectivo de conhecer a instituição e inteirar-se das actividades desenvolvidas a nível institucional.

Durante o encontro, foi apresentado o historial da ASCHA, desde a sua fundação até às motivações que impulsionam o seu trabalho na promoção e defesa dos direitos humanos das mulheres. Foram igualmente partilhadas as formas de intervenção da organização nos bairros, o trabalho desenvolvido junto das comunidades e apresentado o Movimento Levante, os seus objectivos e a visão de transformação social defendida pela organização.

Na ocasião, a Administradora destacou o impacto positivo do trabalho da ASCHA nas comunidades e parabenizou a organização e o Movimento Levante pelo compromisso na luta contra a violência baseada no género e o feminicídio, reconhecendo a ASCHA como uma importante aliadas neste processo.

A visita permitiu o reforço do diálogo entre a ASCHA e as entidades distritais, consolidando a articulação institucional na resposta às preocupações da comunidade e na promoção de acções conjuntas em benefício das comunidades.

ASCHA received a visit today, May 20th, from the Administrator of the KaMaxaqueni Municipal District, accompanied by representatives from INSS (National Institute of Social Security), the Municipal Council, the 12th Police Precinct, EDM (Municipal Development Agency), the Neighborhood Secretariat, and other personalities, with the objective of learning about the institution and its activities at the institutional level.

During the meeting, the history of ASCHA was presented, from its founding to the motivations that drive its work in promoting and defending women's human rights. The organization's forms of intervention in the neighborhoods, the work developed with the communities, and the Levante Movement, its objectives, and the vision of social transformation advocated by the organization were also shared.

On this occasion, the Administrator highlighted the positive impact of ASCHA's work in the communities and congratulated the organization and the Levante Movement for their commitment to the fight against gender-based violence and femicide, recognizing ASCHA as an important ally in this process.

The visit strengthened the dialogue between ASCHA and the district entities, consolidating institutional coordination in responding to community concerns and promoting joint actions for the benefit of the communities.

PROTEGER A INFÂNCIA É GARANTIR FUTUROS LIVRES E SEGUROS

“Uma criança ou rapariga não nasceu para ser esposa, nem um rapaz para ser marido. Nasceram para aprender, crescer, sonhar e construir o seu próprio caminho. Casar cedo não é proteger, é limitar. Proteger uma criança é garantir-lhe direitos, dignidade e a oportunidade de decidir o seu futuro no tempo certo”, partilhou Anila Macamo, de 22 anos de idade, durante a campanha interpessoal realizada no distrito de Xai-Xai, província de Gaza.

A campanha decorreu numa paragem de transporte público de grande circulação e alcançou cerca de 375 pessoas, com idades compreendidas entre os 10 e os 66 anos. O espaço permitiu uma interacção directa com a comunidade, promovendo momentos de diálogo, escuta e reflexão sobre os impactos das Uniões Prematuras e da violência baseada no género.

Ao longo das actividades, os activistas reforçaram a necessidade de eliminar normas sociais nocivas que continuam a limitar o futuro de muitas raparigas, defendendo o direito à educação, à liberdade de escolha e à protecção integral das crianças e mulheres. A acção procurou ainda incentivar uma maior responsabilidade colectiva na prevenção das Uniões Prematuras e na construção de comunidades mais seguras e conscientes.

A campanha foi promovida no âmbito do projecto Escolhas que Transformam Vidas, implementado pela ASCHA com o apoio técnico e financeiro da Girls First Fund, através do programa CHANGEMAKERS, com o objectivo de fortalecer as acções de prevenção e combate às Uniões Prematuras.

PROTECTING CHILDHOOD IS GUARANTEEING FREE AND SECURE FUTURES

“A child or girl wasn’t born to be a wife, nor a boy to be a husband. They were born to learn, grow, dream, and build their own path. Marrying young isn’t protecting, it’s limiting. Protecting a child is guaranteeing them rights, dignity, and the opportunity to decide their future at the right time,” shared Anila Macamo, 22, during an interpersonal campaign held in the Xai-Xai district, Gaza province.

The campaign took place at a busy public transport hub and reached approximately 375 people, aged between 10 and 66. The space allowed for direct interaction with the community, promoting moments of dialogue, listening, and reflection on the impacts of early unions and gender-based violence.

Throughout the activities, activists reinforced the need to eliminate harmful social norms that continue to limit the future of many girls, defending the right to education, freedom of choice, and the comprehensive protection of children and women. The action also sought to encourage greater collective responsibility in preventing preterm unions and building safer and more conscious communities.

The campaign was promoted within the framework of the Choices That Transform Lives project, implemented by ASCHA with the technical and financial support of Girls First Fund, through the CHANGEMAKERS program, with the aim of strengthening actions to prevent and combat preterm unions.
