On 4–5 August, the National Directorate for Environment and Climate Change (DINAMC), with technical support from the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) through the Regional Spatial Biodiversity Assessment, Prioritization and Planning (SBAPP) Project, held a technical meeting in Maputo as part of the revision process of Mozambique’s NBSAP.
The meeting brought together 19 representatives from government institutions, civil society organizations and technical partners to review and harmonize the NBSAP’s strategic objectives, actions, indicators and budgeting aspects, contributing to the consolidation of national biodiversity targets and their alignment with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
Over the two days, participants worked through plenary sessions and technical working groups, identifying areas requiring further consolidation and developing recommendations to refine the NBSAP matrix.
This represents another important step towards strengthening biodiversity conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources in Mozambique.
