Zaza story❤️

On 04.08.26, we finally got lucky.

Many of you know Zaza - our famous "Mao Tse Tung dog." We've received countless messages over the months from people who had spotted him.

His name Zaza means "movement" in Hebrew, and that suited him perfectly. He was always on the move.

This time, thanks to Celine, we knew where he was, and with patience, Jenny finally managed to get him safely into the car.

From there, it was straight to CoopVet.

Poor Zaza has a severe skin condition, almost no teeth left, and weighs only 19 kg. Despite everything, he was gentle and seemed relieved that someone had finally stopped to help.

As our kennels are bursting at the seams once again, Zaza is now staying with PATA, where he can receive the treatment and care he needs while he starts his new chapter.

A huge THANK YOU to Mia for helping us make this possible. ❤️

Sometimes it takes months, many phone calls, amazing people, and one lucky day.

The King has left the building! 👑🐾

Our handsome Elvis has found his forever home with Tassiana, her boyfriend, and lots of love.

Tassiana isn't a stranger to AdA. She comes to walk our dogs, so she already knew what adopting a rescue means. When it came to choosing a cat, she says, "We chose Elvis... although I think he chose us." ❤️

We couldn't agree more.

As the only pet in the house, Elvis now has the kingdom all to himself. No competition for the best sleeping spot, no sharing treats - exactly how a King likes it.

We wish Elvis a lifetime of cuddles, lazy afternoons, and loyal servants - sorry, we mean owners. 👑🐱

Our cattery is still full of amazing cats waiting for their own happy ending.

TRAVEL NEWS

Some stories remind us exactly why we do what we do.

Our beautiful Mayla was adopted in October 2024 and, on 28 March 2026, she left Mozambique to begin her new life in Rome, Italy.

Since then, life has been one big adventure.

This summer alone, Mayla has already explored France and Belgium on a wonderful Euro trip with her family. From an abandoned dog in Mozambique to discovering new countries, new smells, new places, and making memories that will last a lifetime - what an incredible journey.

Her dad, Jan, recently told us:

"Mayla is our princess of the house. She gives more love than one can give to her." ❤️

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing one of our rescue dogs living the life they always deserved. A family to love them, a warm bed to sleep in, and adventures they could never have dreamed of.

Safe travels, sweet Mayla. Keep collecting passport stamps and stealing hearts wherever you go. We couldn't be prouder of you.

Happy tails really do exist. 🐶🌍❤️

ADOPTION NEWS

This one makes our hearts so happy.

After nearly 2½ years in our kennels, Nala has finally found her forever home with Casimiro and his family.

When we rescued Nala, she was wandering the streets. She was in a terrible condition covered in ticks and fleas and suffering from a severe skin disease.

Just look at her today! A beautiful 9-year-old lady, healthy, loved, and finally where she belongs. ❤️

Nala joins our growing list of senior success stories, following Forte and Jackson. Every time one of our oldies leaves the shelter, it reminds us why we never stop believing and why we are proud to be a non-kill shelter. We give them the time they need until the right family comes along.

Now Nala has three kids to play with, a big garden to proudly protect, and a veranda where she can sleep close to the family she has waited so long for.

Happy retirement, sweet girl. You've waited long enough.

Please don't overlook our Oldies. They may have grey faces, but they have hearts full of love still waiting to give.

HOW MANY MORE YEARS, HAZEL? 💔🐾

We honestly don't know what else to do.

We have shared Hazel's story so many times because we know what an incredible dog she is.

Hazel has now spent more than 6 years in our kennels.

She came to us in April 2020, just skin and bones. A wire was tightly wrapped around one of her paws, cutting deep into her flesh. She had suffered, but she never stopped trusting people.

Today, Hazel is 8 years old. She is healthy, beautiful, intelligent, and full of life. She joins us at agility events, loves learning new things, and simply enjoys being with people.

But every evening, she returns to her kennel.

Six years.
Six birthdays.
More than 2.000 days waiting for someone to choose her.

At AdA, we see her every day. We know what an amazing companion she would be. We know she deserves so much more than kennel life.

At 8 years old, Hazel shouldn't still be growing old behind kennel bars. She should be growing old on someone's couch, surrounded by love.

Please - let 2026 be Hazel's year.

Give this beautiful African girl the forever home she has been waiting for. ❤️🐾

Asha story❤️

On Friday 17.06.26, at around 7:00 pm, just after dark, we received a call from Jaqueline about a dog in Matola who desperately needed help.

Without hesitation, our PRO Marion drove out, where Jaqueline was waiting for her. Together they got to the weak little girl, gently wrapped her in a blanket, and rushed her straight to the emergency team at CoopVet.

We named her Asha, the Swahili word for "Hope."

When Asha arrived, she was nothing but skin and bones. She weighed only 9.5 kg, when a healthy dog of her size should weigh around 20 kg.

Today, we finally have some good news.

Asha is eating well, her energy is slowly coming back, and she has already gained weight. She now weighs 10.3 kg - a small number on the scale, but a huge step towards recovery.

Tomorrow, the vets will repeat her blood tests to see how well she is responding to the treatment.

A very special THANK YOU to Jaqueline, who not only cared enough to ask for help but also donated 5.000 MZN towards Asha's veterinary treatment and everything she needs on her road to recovery. ❤️

Every kilogram she gains, every meal she finishes, and every new day she gets to enjoy reminds us why we never give up.

Domino story❤️

On 16.07.26, one of our wonderful foster moms rescued a little cat in Matola who desperately needed help.

We named him Domino.

He arrived at CoopVet in a heartbreaking condition - underweight, dehydrated, jaundiced, and in obvious pain. Tests showed that Domino is FIV positive, has a severe infection affecting his mouth and nose, painful mouth ulcers, anemia, and signs that his liver is struggling.

Right now, Domino is receiving intensive treatment, pain medication, antibiotics, and lots of love. His condition is still critical, and the next few days will be crucial.

We know he has a tough fight ahead, but we're not giving up on him and we hope he won't give up on himself either.

Please keep Domino in your thoughts. ❤️

Do you remember Chico?

On 12.03.26, this tiny boy with his silky grey coat and bright, expressive eyes was found hiding inside a car engine at a petrol station. In the middle of all the noise and traffic, his little life could have ended before it had even begun.

At 7 months old, Chico has found his forever home with Malik and his family!

He now has three sisters - two teenagers and one little girl- who can't wait to spoil him with love, playtime and cuddles.

From a frightened kitten hiding in an engine to a cherished member of a family.

That's why we rescue.
That's why we never walk away.
Because every kitten deserves the chance to write a different ending.

Happy life, Chico. We know you'll be loved every single day. 💛🐾
