𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐙𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄
An imperfect film — but an absolutely necessary one.
There are stories that cannot wait for Hollywood studios to be told.
There are pains that cannot wait for million-dollar budgets to gain a voice.
There are realities so ours, so close, so urgent, that only an organisation truly committed to its people has the courage to transform them into cinema.
𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐮𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐝.
In a context where almost no one dares to finance socially sensitive narratives — and where the fear of criticism usually paralyses cultural initiatives — ComuSanas decided to move forward. It invested in director Alex’s script, believed in the educational impact of the film, and took on the risk that many would avoid: telling a harsh, necessary and transformative story.
Yes, the film could have been technically better.
Yes, with more resources we could have achieved a higher production quality.
But the essential is there — intact, vibrant, true.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐍𝐨𝐞́𝐦𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐫
Noémia is a young woman who, like so many girls in our country, faces a storm of events:
• 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝑯𝑰𝑽,
• 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒕,
• 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒅,
• 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒑𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒕.
But Noémia does not fall.
She does not give up.
She does not surrender to the destiny many expect from her.
With the support of her family, friends, and her own inner strength, she overcomes each obstacle and achieves something many would consider impossible: she completes her studies, graduates, and raises her daughter — who was born free of the virus.
It is this human miracle, this silent daily strength, that 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐙𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄 places before the audience.
Real life, like the film, is not perfect.
And that is precisely why it matters.
The testimony shared by one of the guests at the premiere reinforces a painful truth:
many young people, upon receiving an HIV diagnosis, fall into deep depression and even think about su***de.
She stated clearly, after watching the film, that this work will help many of these young people find hope again — to understand that life does not end with a diagnosis; that there is a future, there is love, there are possibilities.
And this, by itself, already justifies every effort made.
𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧:
After watching the film, place yourself in Noémia Bacar’s shoes.
Reflect:
How did she manage to graduate without her parents knowing?
Where did so much strength, resilience and hope come from?
What does this story teach you about overcoming hardship, family, empowerment and the future?
