Mission Amatongas

The Brothers of the Sacred Heart sent 4 brothers to rebuild a school in Amatongas, Mozambique.

Amatongas, Mozambique is located in the central part of Mozambique. The school has a population of about 800 students with 40 boarders. Mozambique is still recovering from a 14 year Civil War which ended in 1992 and the school was devasted during the war. The brothers officially take responsibility of the school in January, 2012, but have already begun the task of rebuilding and organizing for next year.

Sowers of Hope: Yesterday 7th September, we had a thanksgiving mass of silver jubilee celebration of Sr. Alice and 53rd anniversary( golden jubilee) of Br. Lucas. It was amazing. We keep them in our prayers.

Sowers of hope: Our new traditional oven for baking bread for the boarders, invented by Br. Cristobal and built by Luis one of our local workers in Amatongas. We will use firewood. It will also reduce the electricity bill 💸. The electric oven we have has gotten some serious issues. So we will stick to this one for a while and we see how it goes.

Sowers of Hope: End term Celebration with the borders. It was fun, had some great food, drinks and snacks. Tomorrow I will be going for their 2 week holiday.
